Palace of Annals Side Story Full Walkthrough and Details | Where Winds Meet

There is an abandoned estate that belonged to Emperor Chai Rong, explore there to see if there is a great secret to be discovered.

[1] Investigate the unusual activity at Palace of Annals

・To discover this quest, talk to Long Wu in Front Mountain. He will tell you about the palace.

[2] Investigate the Hall of Seasons

・Outside the large building, there will be Aureate Pavillion Guards that will become trouble for you. Eliminate them before entering the palace.

[3] Explore the second floor of Hall of Seasons

・Head on upstairs to the second floor. When you arrive, head to the hole on the far left corner of the room from where you've entered. Loot the chest too. Fall down to the mini library below.

[4] Check the floor gap

・Talk to the old man to know more about what happened here, and then loot that chest behind him too. To go through the floor gap, use Mighty Drop to break the floor boards.

[5] Search for the hidden mechanism

・Follow the quest marker to the lantern next to the rack of bows. It will open the bookshelf on the far end of the room, and reveal to you another enemy. Defeat him.

[6] Follow the tunnel downward

・After defeating the enemy, head on down the stairs to the right. There will be a Hero's Tomb for you to heal at and then follow the path forward. Activate the lever, this will cause the lift to come on upwards to you. While waiting, feel free to loot the chest to the left of the lever.

[7] Follow the sound downward

・When the lift arrives, activate the lever at the center to have it come down. While it goes down, enemies will drop onto the lift, so defeat them as you descend.

[8] Find the contraptions that control the lift

・The lift will get jammed as you descend, so enter the floor you've conveniently stopped at to un-jam it. Heal at the Hero's Tomb if you need it. There will be enemies on this floor, but you can avoid them if you head to the stairs on your right, the one with the chest. Run to the exit on your right, but don't forget about the chest to your left, and then keep following the quest marker.

[9] Restart the disabled lift

・Beyond the second lever is another chest to loot.

[10] Follow the sound to the next level

・Climb the wooden ramps to head back to the lift. Activate the lever on the center of it again to continue descending. Once you reach the bottom, head down the corridor and fight the enemies in the next room.

[11] Venture deep ahead

・After clearing the enemies, you are free to investigate the shrines around you. Investigating them fills your compendium and and gives you more lore. The shrine with "Khitan Secret Letter" is also part of the compendium. There's also chests on both paths so loot them. Afterwards, head down the door in the center and follow the quest marker.

[12] Explore the Depths of the Dragon Abyss

・You will encounter a wounded soldier, despairing for his comrades and about the monster that killed them. Go through the door behind him. Up ahead, you will see someone hammering away at something. More importantly, to your right is a Boundary Stone. Once, you are ready, apporach the hammering man and get ready for a boss fight.

[13] Defeat frenzied Lucky Seventeen

・This is a strong boss so hopefully you prepared for him, but be careful since he has a second phase. Once you've defeat him, he will calm down.

[14] Speak with Lucky Seventeen

・Inspect the stone tablet nearby for another entry in the compendium. Afterwards. talk to Luck Seventeen to hear his story.

[15] Something glows at the Loong's head.

・Claim whatever is inside the Loong statue's mouth. You can jump if you are having trouble. Once you've claimed it, the quest is complete. Not only that, but you can fast travel to the Dragon Abyss to fight Lucky Seventeen again if you want.
