[1] Talk to Xu Hongli.

Xu Hongli is engaged to Meiniang. Meiniang had a childhood engagement with a boy named Fang before the war broke out. A few days ago, Fang had come back with a wife and son. Meiniang went alone to talk to Fang but has yet to return.

[2] Go inside Fang's house and move the large shelve to the side.

This reveals a secret room with a corpse. Examine the corpse to receive the Farewell Letter. Meiniang had discovered that the Fang Jiazhen was an impostor and was killed because of it.

[3] Give the letter to Xu Hongli.

[4] Go back to Fang's house where the body is and talk to them.
