Recipe's Heir Quest Summary

After tasting all the delicacies of Qinghe, could there be more dishes to try? This one is teaching his recipe to the crowd!

Quest Conditions:

[1] Complete all the Little Master's Legacy Quests:
・Little Master's Legacy I
・Little Master's Legacy II
・Little Master's Legacy III
・Little Master's Legacy IV

[2] There must be NO active encounters.

[3] CONSUME all types of dishes in Qinghe.

NOTE:
In my case, I ate the food right after buying it. This means I eat the food right in front of the stall owner I bought the food from.

Recipe's Heir Walkthrough

[1] Talk to Boss Xie.
He tells everyone that in order to learn his recipe, they first need to acquire the best ingredient, a magic pheasant.

[2] Hunt the "magic pheasant."
Just shoot it with your bow and arrow.

[3] Return to Boss Xie and show your pheasant.
As you arrive, someone submitted a fine chicken… Boss Xie will not be fooled. The rest of you who brought the pheasant moves on to the second round.

For the second round, Boss Xie tells everyone, "When someone's willing to sacrifice themselves for your dream… what are you gonna do for them?"

And so he requires you to mourn for the pheasant, the one who sacrificed themselves for your culinary dream.

[4] Find a secluded spot to mourn the pheasant.
As you cry over your pheasant, you scared an elder.

[5] Talk to the elder.
When he saw you mourning over the pheasant, he thought you were that "wild ghost. " It happened three years ago when the bell on Moonveil Mountain suddenly rang out. On this street where you stand is where he saw the ghost.

He also mentions "two immortals fighting on a tall tower on the mountain…" (Someone we surely know…)

[4] Take the pheasant and return to Boss Xie.
Looks like brother You (No, not you. You.) is crying over his dad and not the pheasant.

As for you and Mei Xingan, Boss Xie will teach you how to cook a Crispy Pheasant, his signature dish back in the day. Whoever cooks the better one passes the third round.

[5] Cook a Crispy Pheasant.
Talking to Mei Xingan, you find out he is adding a Buddha flower… In your case, you remember what the people you care about would like. You remember Ruby, Aunt Han, Ding Si, Song Jiu…

[6] Let Boss Xie taste your Crispy Pheasant.
Having different perspectives on food, Boss Xie dismisses Mei Xingan.

Meanwhile, Boss Xie faints from eating your Crispy Pheasant.

[7] Luckily, you can heal him. Treat Boss Xie for indigestion.

[8] Talk to him.
He tells you your Mei Xingan only cares for money and your food is deadly. However, he tells you, "cooking skills can be improved, but a rotten heart? That can't be fixed." He tells you that you should improve your cooking and come back to him when you get good reviews.

** [9] Find another spot to set up your stall.
A rich man tells you your food is awful. But you notice something else…

[10] Catch the Little Beggar stealing the cake.
He seems to love your Crispy Pheasant that he says even the master chef from the Palace of Annals would agree! He described the chef as having a broad forehead, big eyes, and a little goatee.

[11] Return to Boss Xie's Stall.**
He's not there…

[12] Look for him.
After checking the table, use Wind Sense to track him.

You hear him say:

Three years ago, I tried to help Great hero Chu but ended up hurting you instead.

I know Great Hero Chu stole from you and drew you out of Heaven's Pier for the sake of the people.

And you, out of loyalty to him, refused to give that thing up.

[13] Talk to him.
You tell him you learned to put your heart into your cooking. And he tells you that you are correct.
