Underworld Uprising: Part I Side Story Full Walkthrough and Details | Where Winds Meet

You find Pip on the ground. Afraid that there's something wrong, you poke him a few times. Fortunately, he's okay. He just passed out when he slipped and fell while catching bugs. After catching the Redmist Beetle, he tells you it's an ingredient for a medicine. Medicine for what?

Quest Conditions:

You can trigger this encounter by doing the following:
[1] Adjust the time at Zi hour.

[2] Go to the Rat's Den.

[3] Talk to Rafter Rat and Burrowing Rat to get the anecdote, The Rat's Rebellion.

[4] At Mao hour, you will find Pip on the ground near the leftmost house, north of the river.

[5] Poke him twice and the encounter will start.

[1] Poke Pip.
After waking up, he tells you that he slipped and fell while he was catching some bugs.

[2] Catch the Redmist Beetle on the rooftop.

[3] Give the Redmist Beetle to Pip.
He tells you that this a good ingredient for a medicine. Afraid that he might eat the thing, you follow him to the Rat Den.

[4] Talk to Pip.
He'll ask you to help him make the medicine.

[5] Brew the Strange Decoction I for Pip Rat.
Interact with the Old Alchemy Furnace and select the Strange Decoction I, a strange medicine made from Redmist Beetle.

"According to Pip Rat, the medicine requires the Redmist Beetle—a poisonous Oddity. Whether the resulting medicine is safe to consume remains uncertain."

[6] Submit the medicine to Pip Rat.
He tells you that even without tasting it, he can tell there is something wrong. "The Redmist Beetle isn't as strange as the prescription suggested." He tells you that maybe the Enchanting Lotus would work. He asks you to help him get it, and you will become his best friend for life!

[7] Get the Enchanting Lotus.

[8] Brew the Strange Decoction II for Pip Rat.
Interact with the Old Alchemy Furnace and select the Strange Decoction II, a strange medicine made from Enchanting Lotus.

"According to Pip Rat, the medicine requires the Enchanting Lotus—a poisonous Oddity, though whether the resulting medicine is safe to consume remains uncertain."

[9] Submit the second medicine to Pip Rat.
Again, it seems like this Oddity isn't as strange as the prescription suggested. Now, he wants you to get Dagger Generals! You tell him this is his last shot.

[10] Find and get that Dagger General.

[11] Brew the Strange Decoction III for Pip Rat.
Interact with the Old Alchemy Furnace and select the Strange Decoction III, a strange medicine made from Dagger General.
"According to Pip Rat, the medicine requires the Dagger General—an Oddity renowned for its potent effects, though whether the resulting medicine is safe to consume remains uncertain."

[12] Submit the third and last medicine to Pip Rat.
He tells you it smells just like what his mom made! He tells you that his mom was a great hero in the jianghu and learned medicine. Her life's mission was to help the poor. But wait— Pip wants to give this medicine to his dad! (Should we be worried?) He asks you not to follow him.

[13] Clean the Alchemy Furnace.

[14] Talk to Embroidered Rat.
She tells you more about Pip's mother. Apparently, the furnace belongs to her. When the flower gatherers came, lots of the villagers were poisoned, including Pip's dad. His mom tried to look for the cure, but they got her before she can even find it. Embroidered Rat, along with her brothers, took Pip in.
