Privacy Policy

Lighthouse Studio Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) establishes the following privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as “this Policy”) regarding the handling of user information, including personal information, in connection with the game guide website “GameTrek” (hereinafter referred to as “the Service”) provided by the Company.
Terms not defined in this Policy shall have the meanings ascribed to them in the “GameTrek Terms of Use” separately established by the Company.

1. User Information and Collection Methods

In this Policy, “User Information” shall mean information related to the identification of users, behavioral history on communication service, and other information generated or accumulated in connection with users or their devices.
The User Information collected through the Service is as follows, depending on the method of collection:

(1) Information provided by the users
The following information may be provided by users in order to use the Service or through the use of the Service:

  • Google account information and related details disclosed through the Google account (limited to information for which disclosure and sharing have been consented to by the user).
  • Information entered or submitted by the user through input forms or other methods specified by the Company.

(2) Information collected by the company when users use the service
The Company may collect information regarding access to and use of the Service. This includes:

  • Referrer information.
  • IP address
  • Information on server access logs
  • Cookies, ADIDs, IDFAs and other identifiers
  • OS version information, device model information

2. Purpose of Use

The specific purposes for which User Information is used in relation to the provision of the service are as follows;

  • (1) To provide, maintain, protect, and improve the Service, including processing registrations, verifying identities, authenticating users, recording user settings, and calculating service fees.
  • (2) To measure user traffic and analyze user behavior within the Service.
  • (3) To respond to inquiries and other requests regarding the Service
  • (4) To deliver, display, and measure the effectiveness of advertisements.
  • (5) To respond to any actions that violate our terms and policies regarding the Service (hereafter referred to as “Terms and Policies”)
  • (6) To notify users of any changes to the Terms and Policies regarding the Service
  • (7) To create statistical data related to the Company’s services in a format that does not identify individuals.

3. Methods of notification, disclosure, obtaining consent, and requests to Cease use

Users may request the suspension of collection or use of all or part of their User Information by configuring the specified settings within the Service. Upon receiving such a request, the Company will promptly cease the use of the requested User Information in accordance with the procedures specified by the Company.

However, for certain categories of User Information, the collection or use of such information is essential for the provision of the Service. In such cases, the Company will suspend its collection or use only if the user deregisters from the Service following the procedures specified by the Company.

4. External Transmission, Third-Party Provision, and Information Collection Modules

In this service, the Company uses the following services to investigate user usage and obtain statistical usage information. Behavioral targeting advertisements that utilize user behavior history information by the businesses listed below are distributed within this service. In these behavioral targeting advertisements, each business uses cookies to collect user behavior history information. To disable (opt-out of) behavioral targeting advertisements by each business, please follow the procedures on the respective business's site listed below. After opting out, behavioral targeting advertisements will generally no longer be delivered to users (other types of advertisements will still be delivered). However, please note that due to changes in browsers, deletion of cookies, changes to new devices, or other circumstances, the opt-out may not function effectively, and you may need to opt-out again.

Within this service, by using the functions of the services listed below, commands may be issued to send user information to the businesses providing those functions. This command will result in the transmission of information to the services and their providers listed below.

5. Provision to Third Parties

The Company will not provide personal information to third parties (including those outside Japan) without obtaining prior consent from the user. However, this does not apply in cases where it is necessary to provide the information to third parties (including those outside Japan) for the following reasons:

  • (1) When entrusting the handling of all or part of the personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use
  • (2) When personal information is provided as part of a business succession due to a merger or other reasons
  • (3) When personal information is provided to a partner company or information module provider in accordance with the provisions of Article 4
  • (4) When it is necessary to cooperate with a national agency, local public body, or a person entrusted by either of these in executing the affairs prescribed by law, and obtaining the consent of the user is likely to hinder the execution of said affairs
  • (5) When providing part of the User Information to advertisers or similar parties to confirm performance outcomes.
  • (6) When providing User Information to third parties for the distribution or display of advertisements by the Company or third parties (limited to "informative data"). Informative data refers to information related to internet usage logs or similar data that does not enable the identification of specific individuals.
  • (7) When permitted under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (hereinafter referred to as the "Personal Information Protection Act") or other applicable laws and regulations.

6. Disclosure of Personal Information

When a user requests the disclosure of their personal information in accordance with the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act, the Company will, upon verifying that the request is made by the user themselves, promptly disclose the information to the user (or notify the user if the requested personal information does not exist).
However, this does not apply if the Company is not obligated to disclose the information under the Personal Information Protection Act or other applicable laws and regulations.
Please note that a processing fee of 1,000 JPY per request will be charged for the disclosure of personal information.

7. Correction and Suspension of Use of Personal Information

If a user requests (1) correction of personal information under the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act on the grounds that the information is inaccurate, or (2) suspension of use of personal information under the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act on the grounds that it is being handled beyond the scope of the previously disclosed purpose of use, or was collected through fraudulent or improper means, the Company will, upon verifying that the request is made by the user themselves, promptly conduct the necessary investigation. Based on the investigation results, the Company will correct or suspend the use of the personal information and notify the user of the outcome. If the Company decides not to make corrections or suspend use, the user will be notified of this decision.

If a user requests the deletion of their personal information, and the Company determines that the request should be granted, the Company will, upon verifying that the request is made by the user themselves, delete the personal information and notify the user of the outcome.

If the Company is not obligated to correct, suspend use, or delete personal information under the Personal Information Protection Act or other applicable laws and regulations, the provisions of the preceding two paragraphs will not apply.

9. Procedure for Changing the Privacy Policy

The Company may modify this Policy as necessary. However, if changes to this Policy require user consent under applicable laws and regulations, the modified Policy will apply only to users who have agreed to the changes through methods specified by the Company.
When modifying this Policy, the Company will announce the effective date and details of the modified Policy through appropriate methods, such as displaying the information on the Company’s website or notifying users directly.
