[1] Talk to Duan Qiuxin.

Duan Qiuxin has been frail since birth. She recently dreamed of a golden hairpin and wishes to seek it out. She dreamt that it was beneath the stoutest plum tree by the pavilion.

[2] Find the Golden Hairpin.

Head south of the Sanctum of Austerity to find a large plum tree beside a pagoda. Find the hairpin at the base of the tree.

[3] Give the hairpin to Duan Qiuxin.

[4] Eavesdrop on the conversation from inside the nearby house.
