A Toast to Destiny: Part II Quest Summary

You remember Old Qiu? Your drinking buddy? Well, it's time to visit him!

A Toast to Destiny: Part II Walkthrough

How to Start
You can trigger this encounter by drinking a jar of wine.

[1] Go inside the house and wait.

[2] Hearing someone outside, you check to see Madam Zheng.
You mistake her for his wife. But she's actually hired as a cleaner. She tells you that you're too late and Old Qiu is already gone. It turns out that he hasn't been fine for a while and only looked fine on the outside. She also tells you that he has been a lifelong bachelor. She tells you that he left a letter for you.

[3] Read the letter.
To my young friend,

I have lived a life of mediocrity, drifting between wine and dreams. In my daze, I did not realize how old I had become.
Half a life in ruin, alone in the world, and yet I had the joy of knowing you, my young friend. Sharing drinks and laughter with you was a blessing I never expected.

What I said while drunk that day was nothing but nonsense. I hope you'll laugh it off.
Now, with the end near, one regret still lingers in my heart.

I once buried a keepsake of mine beneath the stones in the courtyard, alongside aged wine. It is tied to my life's deepest regret. Please, retrieve it and bury it with me.

*I fear we'll never share another drink. I leave you the wine. May you enjoy it in my stead.

Qiu Pingsheng's Last Words

[4] Dig the lone drinker's keepsakes in the yard.

[5] Take the wine.

[6] Take the Jade Flute

[7] Read the old letter.
My life is as fragile as a mayfly. I have dwelled in the land of pleasure, never daring to hope for true love.
*But I still recall that glance on the street, the laughter we shared, the vows we made. They linger in my heart.

You spoke of traveling the world together, and I never once hesitated.
If wealth could buy a sliver of sincerity, I would give all I have.
If drifting through the jianghu meant flying beside you, I would not complain.

If a life of hardship could mean a lifetime with you, I would not fear it.
I waited three days on the long embankment, but you never came.
Perhaps you've changed your heart. Though I gave my feelings in vain, I do not regret them.

I only hope we never meet again so that I may forget you at last!

Qing Yin

[8] Go to the graveyard and fulfill Old Qiu's wish.
