Thrill of the Unknown Walkthrough
[1] Talk to the Mysterious Man
A mysterious man finds you in the Town of Beginnings. He senses you have untapped potential and wants to test you.
[2] Access the Main Terminal and start the Quest
Approach the main terminal and start the quest. Choose your starting point and begin.
[3] Search for the target
First, search north for the target in Teardrop Cave: Upper Chamber
Checking your map, the target will not have a waypoint. You will have to explore the dungeon to find it, grabbing some loot along the way.
To continue the quest, exit from the upper right chamber
The exit will lead to a Safe Area. Rest up there to continue.
Afterwards, head north to the blocked off area. Access it to commence the next stage of the quest.
[4] Defeat the Dire Strife Wolf
The Dire Strife Wolf is the quest's target! Defeat it to complete the quest.

[5] Talk to the Mysterious Man again
The Mysterious Man will be glad that you cleared his test. He then gives you a new ability for your Sword Skills, Sword Skill Levelling! With that, the Myserious Man leaves Aincrad in your hands (and Kirito's too, probably).

What does Sword Skill Levelling do?
When earning Sword Skill Points (which are earned when Weapon Proficiency level increases), they can be allocated towards Sword Skills in your chest. Use it to increase the level of your skills and make them stronger.
