Within the Shadows Walkthrough

[1] Search for the rumored monster

Upon starting the quest, follow the waypoint northwest from the starting point. Take the road to make it easer.

Be careful, though! There will be enemies on the road.

Along the way, Iori and Argo converse, and we get to know more about her. Assuming you've never watched or read Sword Art Online Progressive.

Eventually, Argo brings the party to a stop. She has heard rumors about a "mystery monster" that no one has seen.

Iori is skeptical—until he is attacked by something moving really fast.

Argo says the monster used Steal on him. Sure enough, Iori lost all his money. The party will have to track it to get his Col back.

[2] Search for the monster that stole Iori's money

Keep following the waypoint to find the thief. The path is still the easiest way there.

Near the end of the path, Argo detects some markings of the monster, so it must be nearby. Inspect the smoky trail to continue.

[3] Defeat the Shrewman

A Level 4 Shrewman will then spawn. Defeat it to continue!

[4] Search for the monster that stole Iori's money

Looks like the Shrewman runs away if it loses enough HP. Follow the waypoint again to continue.

The waypoint will lead to more markings. Once again, inspect the smoky trail.

[5] Defeat the Shrewman

Like before, the Shrewman will spawn, and you have to defeat it to continue.

[6] Search for the monster that stole Iori's money

The Shrewman runs away again, much to Iori's annoyance. Follow the waypoint again, hopefully for the last time.

The waypoint leads to yet another smoky trail. Inspect it again to spawn the Shrewman.

[7] Defeat the Shrewman

The Shrewman is back, but now it is one level higher. Defeat it again.

[8] Search for the monster that stole Iori's money

Oh, well, it looks like the Shrewman is too much like a rat. It got away with Iori's Col. Follow the waypoint again in what is surely the last time.

Along the way, the party hears the cries of what might be the Shrewman. Someone else might be attacking it. Hurry on, or else Iori will lose his stuff.

At the end of the road, there is a blocked off area. No worries, this is part of the quest. Simply approach the wall and access it.

Well, it looks like last time was the final time we had to fight the Shrewman—because it was not actually the boss of this quest. That would be the big bear eating it.

[9] Defeat the Glenspore Grizzly

Argo says that the new monster now has Iori's money, so now to get it back we will have to defeat it. Get ready, it is time for the real boss. Defeat it to continue.

Once the monster is dead, that is Quest Cleared! And Iori got his Col back.
