Kirito Character Profile and Voice Actors

A beta tester who became a lone wolf, Kirito charges ahead of the group without a second thought, treating survival as a burden that's his alone to carry. Reserved and closed off, he keeps people at a distance, more comfortable trusting his own sword than anyone else. But beneath the distance is someone who feels every loss deeply; each player who fails to make it out stays with him, pushing him to keep getting stronger, faster, and more skilled.

Meeting Kirito

Kirito's official meeting with the Protagonist's party takes place shortly after they've defeated Illfang the Kobold Lord, as the group is leaving the boss room following the fight, making this encounter the payoff to a boss battle rather than something that happens beforehand.

Unlocking Kirito as a Companion / Party Member

For Kirito to become available as a companion/party member, the Protagonist needs to have progressed far enough to reach the 2nd floor of Aincrad, and continue advancing through that floor until Kirito offers up his side quests.

From there, the Protagonist must work through a series of sidequests tied specifically to Kirito's storyline, with each one building on the last and gradually unlocking his recruitment.

Once the Protagonist completes all of Kirito's side quests, along with the main quest The Blackswordsman II, Kirito will finally become available to recruit, allowing the Protagonist to bring him along as an active companion/party member from that point forward.

Role and Kits

Within the party, Kirito's role is that of a Duelist, a class built around fast, precise, single-target combat that lets him take on tough enemies head-on with speed and skill.

Kirito's combination skill, Stream Edge, deals heavy damage to an enemy through a series of consecutive strikes and recovers a set amount of SP in the process.

His support skill, Striker, has Kirito rapidly hit all enemies within a certain range in quick succession, and will execute any enemy whose HP falls below a certain threshold.

Kirito's overall kit makes him an excellent choice for a Protagonist aiming to build a party centered around burst damage. His mix of relentless single target pressure, SP sustaining combo attacks, and an execute oriented support skill lets the party quickly take down priority targets and finish off weakened enemies, keeping momentum in the party's favor throughout a fight.
