Asuna Character Profile and Voice Actors

3.png

A former beta tester who traded hesitation for precision, Asuna fights on the front lines with a speed most players can barely keep up with. Sharp-tongued and disciplined in the beginning, Asuna puts up a wall early on, leaning in more on strategy and her own rapier rather than the comfort of a party.

Asuna is chasing a way home, both for herself and for everyone she's determined not to leave behind.

Meeting Asuna

2.png

The Protagonist officially meets Asuna on the 2nd floor of Aincrad, with their encounter taking place specifically in the town of Urbus, marking the point in the story where her path first crosses with the Protagonist's.

Unlocking Asuna as a Companion / Party Member

6.png

To unlock Asuna as a companion/party member, the Protagonist must first have progressed far enough to access the 2nd floor of Aincrad, reaching Urbus, the main town on that floor, where her storyline becomes available.

From there, the Protagonist must work through a series of side quests tied specifically to Asuna's storyline, with each one building on the last and gradually unlocking her recruitment.

  1. Keepsake
  2. Friendship
  3. Renown

It's recommended to finish the main quest The Black Swordsman I first, just to make sure that Asuna's third side quest, Renown, actually becomes available to trigger, since it appears to be tied to completing that main quest beforehand.

Once all three of these side quests have been completed, Asuna officially becomes available to recruit, allowing the Protagonist to add her to the party as a full-fledged companion from that point onward.

Role and Kits

Asuna will most likely be a Duelist. Asuna's signature fighting style throughout the franchise is built entirely around the rapier, known for its rapid attack speed and quick multi-hit combos rather than heavy per-hit damage or crowd control.

Asuna's combination skill, Spirit Shot, deals moderate damage to a single enemy, consuming 50% of the Protagonist's SP to add extra damage scaled off ATK. The more SP that gets consumed, the higher the resulting damage and once consumption crosses a certain threshold, it also boosts the damage of the Protagonist's next Sword Skill.

Her support skill, Lightning, deals damage to all enemies surrounding Asuna while also restoring SP to any allied characters nearby.
