Peerless Katana Walkthrough - Nioh 3

It seems Takasugi Shinsaku has lost contact with the blacksmith to whom he entrusted his sword. I should go check on the smith.

Note: This is only available after finishing the Main Mission, Accursed Temple.

[1] Speak with Takasugi Shinsaku in Shichijo.

He tells you that he asked his buddy to sharpen an old sword, but he hasn't heard from him at all.

[2] Follow him and check on the blacksmith.

As you walk with him, he tells you that that sword is very important. They consider it as a "hope incarnate."

As you reach an open area, a group of Yokai appears.

[3] Defeat the yokai in the area.

There are two Yokai ready to pounce on you on the ground and another on top of the roof.

[4] Search the bodies.

It seems like the Shinsengumi took the blade. Takasugi tells you that they're heading to the ruins of Nijo Castle.

[5] Speak with Takasugi Shinsaku.

Talking to Takasugi, you learn more as he tells you that it might be specifically Nagakura Shinpachi's squad.

[6] Pursue the Shinsengumi.

You'll see it marked on the southern part of the Nijo Castle.

[7] Defeat Nagakura Shinpachi.

When you arrive, speak with Takasugi and get ready for battle. Nagakura isn't alone, so watch out for them too. It's actually best to defeat them first before going for the big guy.

Nagakura loves doing the lightning strike. He also blocks attacks, so you can't really spam your attacks on him. Long-range attack works well against him.

[8] Speak with Takasugi Shinsaku.

After defeating Nagakura, speak with Takasugi. He tells you that the blacksmith wasn't only just a friend, but his other half. The sword belonged to him. You receive the Mibu Temple Key and the mission ends.
