A New Era Quest Summary
Period: Bakumatsu - 1864 CE
It seems I have traveled through time once again. Is this what Himiko spoke of—that which lies unseen at the end of time?
Nekomata says this is Kyoto, but the city that stretches before me is all but unrecognizable. The Crucible has doubtless engulfed this land as well; there is naught I can do but seek it out.
A New Era Walkthrough
[1] Go Forward.
Following the events of the "Light of Hope" Mission, where Kunimatsu becomes possessed by Hiruko, you are saved by Himiko. She'll give you and Kusanagi the time needed to escape into the Bakumatsu - 1864 CE Period.
Exit the tunnel and move to the open area.
There, you'll find a Spirit Vein. You can use the Guardian Spirit Skill 'Oh' to safely drop from the ledge and reach Shimabara.
[2] Make your way toward the Crucible.
Keep moving forward until you reach Shimabara Pleasure District - South Gate Shrine, which triggers "The Sweet Sound of Strings".
[3] Speak with Takasugi Shinsaku.
Once you've finished "The Sweet Sound of Strings", talk to Takasugi Shinsaku.
This Quest will then be marked as complete, automatically starting the next mission, "Those Left Behind".
