Period: Warring States - 1572 CE
Tadakatsu has asked me to assist Tokugawa's forces. If it helps my clan—and Grandfather, above all—I have no choice but to agree.
According to Tadakatsu, Grandfather is currently retreating toward Hamamatsu Castle. I will leave the pursuit to Tadakatsu and follow Grandfather to Hamamatsu Castle.
The Hamamatsu Incident - Part 1 Walkthrough
[1] Speak with Honda Tadakatsu.
After defeating Yamagata Masakage during "Escape from Hitokoto Slope", you will learn more about Honda Tadakatsu.
[2] Make your way toward Hamamatsu Castle.
When you're done talking to Tadakatsu, climb the hill until you trigger a cutscene.
This wraps up most of the tutorial and opening for Nioh 3! Now, the exploration truly begins.
Starting from this hill in Totomi Province during 1572, you can now journey ahead to Hamamatsu Castle.
Check the Map for your Exploration Level. It's important to raise this because it will allow you to gain items and base stat increases while obtaining Area Info such as:
・Display entire Map inside an Area
・Display Location of Exploration Spots and Collectibles
So, what are the best ways to raise your Exploration Level? Here is a list of things you can do while making your way to the next Objective for this Main Mission:
・Complete Myths like Kodama Seeker, Insatiable Hunger, and Desecrated Hot Spring.
・Capture Enemy Bases.
・Purify Lesser Crucibles.
・Interact with Friendly Yokai such as Kodama, Scampusses, and Chijiko.
When you're ready to proceed with the mission, head to the Hamamatsu Post. There are a few activities you can do here, like purifying the Lesser Crucible, opening Chests, or finding Yokai like Chijiko.
But, your goal is to head to the bridge for a cutscene.
There, you will meet a young, armored Tokugawa Ieyasu and his scouting party. Thanks to Ii Naotora, the group will ask for your aid with the large Crucible.
[3] Enter the Crucible.
Naotora will lead you to the Crucible's Entrance. Activate the nearby Shrine or talk to the Sudama for your preparations.
