Heian Befouled Guide
Heian Befouled Quest Summary
Period: Heian - 1190 CE
The Death Veil of the Warring States period looms over Kyoto, while the palace below has been swallowed by the Crucible. The only path to the Crucinite is through the Crucible, but all four protective barriers have been corrupted, and Aratama run rampant. Following Yoshitsune's orders, I must focus on purifying the remaining three barriers.
But his elder brother, Minamoto no Yoritomo, was an exceptional general whom even my grandfather respected. What could have caused such a battle to unfold in Kyoto?
Heian Befouled Walkthrough
[1] Purify 3 Barriers in Mount Kurama.
After defeating the Great Tengu during "Sacred Mountain Defiled" and receiving the Purification Talisman from Minamoto no Yoshitsune, you must purify the three remaining barriers.
Make your way to the three barriers spread across Kyoto to dispel the Crucible! You can find them in Sagano, Hachijo, and Rokuhara.
The missions can be done in any order, but following the suggested levels is recommended for easier exploration.
[2] Purify the Sagano Barrier.
Once you've reached Level 69, travel to Matsuo-taisha in Sagano to find the first barrier.
Next, take on the "Black Feather Sanctuary" Mission to purify the area and face Otoroshi.
[3] Purify the Hachijo Barrier.
When you're ready for the next mission, "The Oni of Rajomon", head to Rajomon - Suzaku Avenue in Hachijo. Keep in mind that the recommended level is 80.
To succeed in purifying this location, you must defeat the boss, Ibaraki Doji.
[4] Purify the Rokuhara Barrier.
For the third and final barrier, start the "Subterfuge at the Abandoned Shrine" Mission by going to Yasaka Shrine in Rokuhara. It's suggested that you're at least Level 83 before taking on this challenge.
You'll have to battle the enemy, Kajiwara Kagetoki, to complete this.
[5] Speak with Minamoto no Yoshitsune.
After purifying the last barrier, talk to Minamoto no Yoshitsune.
Once that's over, you will be able to finish this quest chain and move on to "A Cause Too Great".
