Where to find Hilga and Gorm
Hilda and Gorm could be found east of the Mushroom Village Beacon.

[1] Find Hilga and Grom.
To start the quest go to where Hilga and Grom are then drink the Cauldron on Hilga's table. Nothing will happen to you so you'll be fine.
[2] Visit Hilga and Grom Again.
When you visit Hilga again, Hilga has disappeared. When you ask Grom, he replies that she must have picked up some weeds somewhere. Rest in a beacon then head back to continue the quest.
[3] Return to Hilga.
This time around, Hilga returns and is letting Grom simmer in a broth while stirring the pot. You can drink the cauldron like before to which Grom exclaims that that drink is his.
[4] Visit Hilga Again.
Visit Hilga again and witness that Grom has turned (somewhat) into a frog-like creature. You can also drink from Hilga's cauldron again which has no effect on you, to which Hilga sighs in disappointment.
[5] Get in Hilga's Pot.
Return to Hilga and Grom, this time Hilga asks you to get into the Pot while she stirs the broth. Exit the pot then rest at a beacon to advance the quest.
[6] Witness the fate of Harwald.
Come back and you'll see that Grom has killed Harwald. Hilga mourns the loss of her companion. Like before, rest at a beacon then come back.
[7] Pay Respects to Harwald
Hilga, distraught over Harwald, mourns the loss of her froggy companion.
[8] Give Hilga the Poisoned Dagger
To complete this step, you have to proceed with Gorf's questline up to the point where a poisoned dagger is embedded in Gorf. Get it and give it to Hilga.
[9] Read Hilga's Goodbye Note
Take a rest and come back. Hilga has left you a goodbye note hinting to you where she might be.
