List of All Sidearms

Sidearms are your ranged option in Mortal Shell 2, letting you deal damage from a distance instead of relying on your primary weapon's melee attacks.

You'll come across Sidearms both through story progression and scattered across the map, each with its own attacks and quirks that shape how you play.

There are 8 Sidearms to collect in total. Firing one costs Resolve: The yellow bar that fuels alternate abilities like Shell skills and Sidearms.. You can build this up by landing hits with your primary weapon or by breaking glowing effigies you find while exploring. As long as you've got enough Resolve saved up, your Sidearms are ready to use.

SidearmDescription
Forgotten CrossbowTraded to a merchant by a desperate addict, this crossbow is surprisingly well-calibrated
NaylshotteAccursed arms birthed by a malevolent forge rumored to have a will of its own.
BallistazookaHeavy and unwieldy, scholars argue if the weapon was ever used in battle or just executions in Muraden.
Caged HystrixThe contraption pierces the creature trapped inside, prompting a violent and often useful reaction.
Cursed ChildStranded between life and death, this child yearns to be held and will desperately protect its caretaker.
Salvaged TrebuchaxeSurprisingly sophisticated for a device that utilizes axes as projectiles.
Triarch RepeaterCarved bone and grafted metal reinforcements hint at this strange weapon's otherwordly origins.
Troubadour's LuteA relic of a simpler time. Favored by wanderers, this lute soothes man and beast alike.

How to Use Sidearms

How to Use Sidearms

You can only equip one Sidearm on the Harbinger at a time, though you're free to swap between them at any Beacon.

Landing hits with your primary weapon or perfect blocking enemy attacks builds Resolve back up. Sidearm hits won't refill it though, so lean on your melee weapon to keep the bar topped off between shots.

You can also slot Tarstones into your Sidearms to boost their effectiveness further, adding anything from bonus damage to damage-over-time effects or elemental status buildup like Burn.

Two Sidearms with Critical Damage

Caged Hystrix and Triarch Repeater are the ONLY two sidearms with stas on Critical Damage. If you care about Critical Damage, you might want to check out the said sidearms.

Crowd Control Sidearm: Troubadour's Lute

Troubadour's Lute is the ONLY weapon that does not have Damage and Resolve Consumption Stats. Instead, it serves as crowd control. It has the ability to cause confusion to enemies within the range. Confusion causes enemies to target other surrounding enemies when the meter is full.
