How to Beat Tarblighted Stoner
[1] Stay aggressive to prevent it from spawning tarblighted minions.
The minions it summons can inflict Burn with their slashes and become a major distraction, especially while dodging the boulders thrown by the boss. Being relentless and keeping close to the Tarblighted Stoner can prevent it from throwing explosive boulders that summon these reinforcements.
[2] Exploit its Boulder Pounding attack to open it up for a Riposte.
Take advantage of its Four-Hit Boulder Pound as this entire sequence can fully build its Break Meter, allowing for a Riposte.
[3] Equip the Burnt Effigy to cure or reduce the Burn it applies.
Its attacks apply Burn with every hit, making the Burnt Effigy a particularly effective item at mitigating status damage.
[4] It is susceptible to Lightning-based attacks.
The Tarblighted Stoner is vulnerable to Lightning-based attacks, making Biosampler an effective tool for both dealing damage and disabling it to land extra hits. Invest skill points on Exoshell and Biohazard to mitigate any damage while using Biosampler and apply more Lightning stacks.
Alternatively, if the player has obtained the Tarstone: Voltaic Crown, they can use this to inflict Lightning damage with their melee weapon. Take note that this can only be used on the Clockwork Scythe, Great Martyr's Blade, and Axatana.
The following Tarstones are also effective in this fight:
- Voltaic Amber
- Barrage Stone
- Hexapod Core
Tarblighted Stoner Rewards
The Tarblighted Stoner drops the following rewards upon death:
- Tarred Fragment
- Gloom x 6,031
