After getting the fourth note, the team finds an item that makes Ogden sure of who the letter sender is.

This is available after defeating the Feral Blangonga during The Sacrosanctum Main Quest and finishing Ogden Ch. 3 Side Story.

[1] Talk to Ogden at the base.

Now that Gaul is out of the picture, Ogden doesn't have the foggiest idea who the letter sender could be. But, he does have a new set of observation notes, and this time, it;s about the Exotic Nibelsnarf. From the conversation, Ogden seems to have figured something out, but doesn't expound on it. Instead, the team decides to go forth and find the monster in the notes.

[2] Find the Exotic monster.

Travel to the Glacial caps at Serathis. Use Breath on the ground to stir up the monster.

Next, make your monstie roar to bait the Exotic Nibelsnarf into coming out of the ground.

Make the monstie cry on the ground so that the Nibelsnarf will directly attack the team. Defeat it.

[3] Figure out who the letter sender is.

Rudy finds a crystallized monster tooth necklace on the ground, wondering if the mysterious sender dropped it. Ogden declares that he knows who the letter sender is and that they should go back to Azuria to meet them.

When they get to the Azuria vineyard, Kora and Caretta, Ogden's estranged wife, meet them there. Ogden reveals he's realized that Caretta was the one sending the notes and the notes were originally made by Lucas.

Rudy demands an explanation. Ogden had recognized the necklace belonging to Lucas and that's how he figured it out. Caretta was the one with the plan and Kora was her collaborator. Caretta tells how when Lucas came home after his mysterious travels, he had been too sick to talk and his notes were all she had as a clue to where he'd been. She wanted Ogden to see where Lucas had gone and what he had seen. The player concludes that Lucas had been traveling towards the Sacrosanctum, like they are doing now. But before he made it, he came down with crystalisis and died. Kora says that Amara once told her of suspicions that the Sacrosanctum held the cure for Encroachment and it seems that Lucas thought the same.

Case closed! They figured out the mystery! The former couple are happy to have seen what the world was like in Lucas' eyes and Ogden is happy to have a bit of an experience of what it would have been like to hunt monsters with Lucas if he were still alive.

The player suggests that it's the perfect time for the couple to reconcile...ha! They both reject the thought instantly but they agree that maybe can they can communicate in the future more through letter writing.
