Chapter Two: Cataracts
The Rangers recover a Canyne Egg, transforming the villagers' reverence for the creatures into hope for coexistence. Even Kol begins to sympathize with the group's journey to defy fate.
The party slays the Aknosom threatening the village and plans to set out for the Scriveners' home of Galyad to find answers, but the true threat to the village remains.
Ward Walkthrough
[1] Find Rudy.
As the Rangers talk to Village Chief Kol at the end of “Transgressors” Quest, Rudy runs off with a heavy heart.
He feels like he’s betraying his duty as a Royal Palico as his doubts starts to sink in.
During the conversation, Len approaches the group and politely requests them to leave the village.
[2] Speak with Kol.
The group respects the local beliefs and decides to say goodbye to Kol before heading out.
To address the dwindling Canyne population, Eleanor insists that this is the perfect job for the Rangers.
[3] Search for Canyne Eggs in Blessing Hill.
Leave Sheparden for now and proceed to Blessing Hill at night.

[4] Make the Invasive Arzuros Retreat.
Similar to the "Endangered Species" Quest, the Rangers are going to encounter an Invasive Monster here.
| Step | Image | How to Get Invasive Arzuros Tracks |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Upon reaching the Endangered Den, they notice an Invasive Arzuros lingering too close to the tracks. | |
| 2 | Distract the monster by using a Monstie's breath attack at the huge tree. This way, the tracks can be collected. |
| Given Hints for Invasive Arzuros Tracks |
|---|
| Rudy: "What huge tracks! And that sweet smell. Is that...honey?" Rudy: "There are small prints around here, and lots of them! Are they moving in a group?" Gaul: "Underlings following the leader, perhaps. Targeting the boss is best in such cases, but..." Rudy: "This sweet smell from big and tiny prints... Could honey be integral to their way of life?" Gaul: "Makes you wonder what would happen if their honey supply ran dry." Rudy: "Their pack would shrink... so maybe they'd go to their dens to resupply and avoid that?" |
The secret to winning the Invasive Arzuros Retreat Battle is making the monster run out of honey.
Make the team focus on taking down the smaller Arzuros first, which forces the main monster to use up its supplies with the Honey Call skill.
[5] Get the Canyne Egg and Return to the Village.
After getting the Monster Egg inside the Den, head back to Sheparden and let it hatch.
The only problem left now is dealing with the Hellion. Naturally, the Rangers are more than ready to handle the task!
Optional: New chapters for the Side Stories become available during this Main Quest. Players can finish these first!

[6] Follow the Ward Statue's Gaze.
Kol suggests following the Ward Statues, as they can guide the Rangers directly to the Hellion's location.
The group can either follow the Ward Statues or head straight for the Narrow Passage: Opening.
Use the Monstie, Canyne, to enter the Narrow Passage.
[7] Explore Narrow Passage.
Start the search for the Hellion in this new location. Also, keep an eye out for these Collectibles:

[8] Defeat the Feral Aknosom.

Stay sharp and don't get deceived by the monster's elemental type. The Feral Aknosom can still pull off Fire-based skills, and when it becomes enraged, it shifts to using Ice attacks.
Bring Zest Pills to cure Skillseal whenever a Character or Monstie is hit by the effects of a Backlash (Seal).
[9] Report Back to Kol.
Once the monster is defeated, return to the Village and update Kol.
Kol teaches the Prince/Princess about Excursions to prepare for the fight against the "force of nature".
