Chapter Two: Cataracts
The threat turns out to be a mountainous Yama Tsukami, driven into a frenzy by the crystallization.
When peace returns to the village, the Rangers and Kol give thanks for the chance encounter that sparked their new friendship.
With their newly entrusted Canyne by their side, the party finally sets off for Galyad.

Starting from Canalta Timberland, pass through the Dragonreach Mountains: Foothills to begin this Quest.

[2] Defeat Yama Tsukami.
The Yama Tsukami is a unique Elder Dragon that cannot be defeated simply by depleting its Health Bar. Instead, focus on setting the creature free from its suffering by breaking the crystallization.

During the first phase, the team's objective is to break the monster's Tentacles until it becomes Enraged and open its mouth.
Tip: Use Hammer as the primary weapon and spam Speed skills or attacks for this part.
Once the Yama Tsukami becomes Enraged, keep on dealing damage to its Mouth, especially while the monster remains in its Exposed state.

| Exposed | Depleting the Wyvernsoul Stock forces the Elder Dragons into an Exposed state, where they are restricted to normal attacks. Staggering them also triggers this state for several turns. Unlike when they are Fatigued, their attacks are not easier to avoid, but players will be able to trigger a Head-to-Head by using certain skills. |
After successfully destroying the monster's Mouth, there should be a scene where Kora and Gaul land a heavy blow on the Crystals on its back. Only one more hit is needed for it to break!
The monster returns to its Normal state and the team must repeat the same process until it is fully stunned once more.
For the second time, the Rangers focus their attack on the monster's back, finally freeing it from the remaining crystals.
When the battle is over and the monster flies away, Kol expresses his gratitude to the Rangers for changing his views about defying fate.
The Cataracts arc concludes as the team departs for the Muddled Marsh to begin "Rudy" Quest.
