While mining, a villager found the den of a monster. They got out safely but it looks like no one can mine that area until the monster is gone.

[1] Talk to the Old Stonemason at Sheparden.

While looking for ore on Mt. Canalta, he stumbled upon a sleeping Flying Wyvern covered in spikes. He got away safely but mining again in the area will be impossible.

[2] Slay the monster.

Head to Mt. Canalta and find the quest den. There, defeat the Feral Espinas.

[3] Report back to the Old Stonemason.
