Father and Child Quest Summary
Chapter Five: Lazlion
While fending off Simon's Rathalos and the battle-bound monsters from Vermeil, Aenshin saturates the entire area in a thick, crystallizing mist.
Witnessing this overwhelming display of the Elder Dragon's power, Fiero advises Queen Clarissa that they should seize that strength for themselves.
After being saved by the king’s heroic actions, the Captain finally learns the full truth of what happened ten years ago. Vowing to carry out Amara’s final wish, they feels a surge of resolve as Ratha’s dormant power finally awakens.
Father and Child Walkthrough
[1] Go outside the Small Border Fort.
Vermeil’s sudden assault on the Azurian border is interrupted by the appearance of the Elder Dragon, Aenshin.
The Rangers head outside the fort to confront the creature and prevent it from destroying Azuria.
[2] Stop the Elder Dragon Aenshin.
| Step | How to Make Aenshin Retreat |
|---|---|
| 1 | Similar to the Yama Tsukami fight during "A Valuable Encounter" Quest, depleting Aenshin's health is not the primary goal. Instead, the Rangers must focus on exhausting the creature's Wyvernsoul Stock to remove the crystallization. |
| 2 | While in its Normal State, Aenshin uses Technical Attacks. Counter it with Power Attack. |
| 3 | To avoid triggering its Grand Backlash, don't attack Aenshin's Shell whenever the Blightstone Active Skill is in effect. |
| 4 | Watch out for Aenshin's Grand Scourge AoE attack that can deal serious damage to the entire team's HP. Try to survive until the monster transitions into its Enraged State. |
The battle ends once the Elder Dragon starts behaving strangely. Led by Simon, the Vermeil forces launch an aggressive attack on Aenshin, but this backfires as the creature begins to release a thick crystallization mist across the battlefield.
[3] Speak with King Arken.
As the Prince/Princess struggles to save Simon and escape Aenshin’s brutal attacks, King Arken intervenes to rescue them both. The King succeeds in forcing the Elder Dragon to retreat, but this causes him to lose his footing and fall from his Monstie.
It is then revealed that King Arken was always aware of Amara’s plan to cross the Meridian ten years ago.
Back in the present, though the King is now affected by the crystallization, he remains determined. He urges the Rangers to continue their mission.
The team must make their preparations before heading back to Sacrosanctum for the "Machinations" Quest.
