Endangered Species Quest Summary
Chapter One: Azuria
With the aim of protecting endangered species due to the presence of invasive monsters, the Rangers fend off an Invasive Yian Garuga to save an egg that then hatches into an endangered Rathian.
The group returns the first "Queen of the Land" seen in over a decade to its habitat, hoping to help restore the Ecosystem.
Endangered Species Walkthrough
[1] Look for the Invasive Monster.
Starting from the Sunpetal Plains: Path Catavan Stand, climb the nearby hill on the left and follow the path until the team encounters an Invasive Monster.

[2] Make the Yian Garuga Retreat.
Based on Rudy's analysis of the tracks, win the battle by breaking Yian Garuga's legs.

| Retreat Battle Rules | Defeat Invasive Monsters by forcing them to retreat. Note that players can’t run away until a certain number of turns have passed. Conditions vary from monster to monster and may involve breaking certain parts or using certain skills. Pay attention to the following clues: ・ Dialogue when tracks are discovered. ・ Companions' comments during battle. ・ The Invasive Monster's behavior and attacks during battle. |
[3] Head inside the Endangered Den.
When the battle is done, go inside the Monster Den to search for Eggs.

| Invasive Monster Rematches | Up for a rematch? Invasive Monsters retreat, then go to sleep in an Endangered Monster's Den. Waking them up triggers a difficult fight called a Decisive Battle, during which the monster can be slain. |
Break the Egg Quartz to obtain the Endangered Monster's Egg!
[4] Hatch the Monster Egg.
After leaving the Den, the Rangers incubate the Special Egg at their Campsite.
A Rathian hatchling is revealed! They must release it back to the wild for it to repopulate its species.
[5] Learn about Habitat Restoration.

| Habitat Restoration | Habitat Restoration allows players to rehabilitate the Ecosystem and influence the area by reintroducing Monsties into the wild. This can only be performed in areas that have a Camp. Habitat Restoration also increases a Monster's Ecosystem Rank within an area. |
| Dual-Element Monsters | These creatures have undergone Habitat Restoration, and the region's element is applied to them. Their skills that have the newly applied element will be stronger. |
[6] Report back to King Arken.
Once the Rathian is set free, players can explore for a bit and complete a new Side Quest:

Return to the Azuria Castle and talk to King Arken to progress the Main Story.
