Giant Tree Zone Summary
The party arrives at Ooi Colony but are denied entry as they claim it will interfere with their quest to get rid of the Nushi in the area. What the colony didn't expect is that the Nushi came as a pair and wrecked havoc in the colony before they set out.
Emma and Koo go and get rid of both of the Nushi. After defeating the second Nushi, Emma finds a document by Doctor S. This returns all of Violet's memories to her. She decides to erase herself from Emma's memories so that she will not wake up and that Emma's soul won't be overwrtitten even if she fulfills her 'destiny' as a vessel.

Giant Tree Zone Walkthrough
[1] Visit the Ooi Colony.
Brad declares that the party will soon leave the mountainous region. The Administrator comes up on the radio. Brad brushes him off when Emma asks about him. Soon, they arrive at the Drowned Region. Brad suspects the Nushi must be in the giant tree whose base is at the flooded ruins. It's best to have a good rest place so he decides to visit the colony settlement here.
The party arrives at the Ooi colony, but the elevator isn't going down to welcome them in. The Overseer golem contacts them and denies them entry, stating that they are currently readying to take down the Nushi in the area themselves. They don't want to rely on an outside force to help them and plan to battle the Nushi the next morning.
A voice calls out to Emma and she decides to go outside. She meets Mikoto who had also been denied entry into the colony. Brad sees the interaction from inside the Cleanse Walker. He seems to know Mikoto and is surprised to see him here.
An alarm sounds and the Nushi can be seen flying over the colony. The colony tries to shoot them down but the attempt is futile. Brad and Emma, watching from the Cleanse Walker, see that the Nushi are a pair. They leave in different directions and Brad assumes the colony didn't know there were two of them. The squad the colony were going to send are probably dead now. The timing is strange, like they knew they were going to be hunted.
[2] Head to the Great Tree
The Overseer contacts Brad and confirms their units were slaugtered. They let the walker into the colony. Emma disembarks and starts to hunt down the Nushi, starting with the one that went to the Great Tree.
After exiting the colony, you can hook yourself to the running tram to more easily traverse. Get down at the picture on the right below, near the campsite, as the tram will start moving east and soon return back towards the colony.

Follow the quest marker until you reach the control panel. It is not currently working so you will have to look for the key to operate it again.
[3] Look for the Forest Gate Key.
Talk to the nearby golem. They will tell you where to get the Forest Gate Key.
Take the tram and get down at this building. Use Emma's hair to get up and into the building. Find the set of stairs and go towards the quest marker.

Defeat the elite enemy to obtain the key card. Watch out as this enemy can burn Emma. Emma will receive the sword Fall Thunder and the key card after beating them.
Return to the control panel to open the gate.
[4] Continue on to the Great Tree.
Press forward until you reach the campsite. Nearby is a Rusted Golem. They will tell you that you need a key card that matches the corresponding number to access the tram. They give Emma the Key Card (Line Zero).

Travel to the caves behind the golem. Beware of the numerous mobs going forward. Climb up the tall set of stairs and board the tram on Line Zero. Get off the tram and follow the quest marker.
[5] Defeat the first Corvus Nushi.
Corvus is aerial and thus cannot be reached by normal attacks unless you or Koo bring it down. It'll be good for Koo to have Sakura: Javelin equipped as the boss is weak to lightning. There are points you can grapple onto in the area. Use them to your advantage to have better aim at Corvus, and to be able to reach it when it falls down.
Watch out when the Nushi tries to target you with bombs (must be perfect dodged) that will trigger corrosion.
After the fight, Emma will earn the Nushi Skill: Acid Burst Nobudou and the Blade Art/Finisher: Nobudou. Koo will learn Bloom Art: Nobudou Burst. You will also receive Key Card (Line One) and a Light Box.
[6] Defeat the second Corvus Nushi.
Return to the Line One platform and ride the tram. Get down once you arrive and follow the quest marker.
The main difference in this battle is the terrain. There are gaps in some places so it's easy to fall into crevices which will result in you respawning with less HP. Corvus will also now summon some bird malefact reinforcements sometimes. If you are on lower ground, Corvus might swoop down towards at you with an unavoidable attack.
After it first reaches 0 HP, the Nushi will try to fly away but Emma shoots at it with an arrow. It will then proceed to its 2nd phase. In its second phase, it will do a lot more swooping attacks and corrosive bombs. While attacking, you may drop within the crevices so keep an eye on your health and position.
[7] Explore deeper.
Emma wakes up to someone calling her name after fainting due to the entanglement with the Nushi. The backside of the forest opens up and she decides to explore deeper with Koo. She finds a document by the mysterious Doctor S inside, triggering the return of Violet's memories. Violet doesn't disclose this to Emma.
Emma and Koo go back to the Nushi's lair. Violet realizes that the more Emma absorbs the Nushi, the more blight she accumulates, and the more she becomes the perfect "vessel" as 'he' intended. She's afraid that if she awakens, she will overwrite Emma's soul. She realizes that there's only one path forward for her if she wants to protect Emma.
Emma then faints again.
In their dreamland, Violet says goodbye to Emma. She wants Emma to promise to defeat the beast. She lets Emma forget about her when Emma wakes up, it seems she was successful.
