Fuji Frontier Zone Walkthrough
[1] Look for clues that indicate where the Nushi is.
The party arrives at the next zone. Emma wonders about malefacts having motivations, but Brad tells her to focus on thinking about what drives her instead. Emma and Koo start exploring the Fuji Frontier Zone.
To get through this large chasm, go right and walk on the pipes to get across.
Press forward by grappling on the pipes and going upwards.
When you get to the large fan/windmill, try to get down to where the campsite is.
After shooting at the explosive, and going onwards, Brad will tell Emma that the Nushi signal disappeared. Most likely, this indicates that Shidou absorbed the Nushi and is in the area.
You'll come upon a boarded up gate. Turn left to go around the gate. There will be a gap through the trees where you can shoot at the explosive which will bring the gate down so that you can pass through.
Stay on the path until you discover the remains of the Nushi. Shidou's presence is clear. The objective is now to hunt down Shidou's malefact companion.
[2] Chase after Shidou's Malefact.
Stay on the path. Outside of the cave, be careful for this archer from really far away. You can't attack them, so quickly race to go to the cave to the east to take cover. Keep going east to reach the next checkpoint.
Right after the campsite, you have to defeat all the enemies, including an elite enemy, in order to open the path forward.
The path is straightforward until you reach the next campfire. Go right to find the malefact. Go left for collectibles.
Drop down to the platform below when you find the open area. Take the path eastward from there. The room after the campsite has an elite enemy that has to be defeated to move forward.
If you want to bring the bridge down for easy crossing of the chasm, operate this panel that is to the left of the next campsite. Turn right from the campsite to continue chasing the malefact.
Get ready to face the Nue Malefact again.
[3] Defeat the Nue Malefact.
The battle is as usual. This time, you have to bring their HP to 0 before they run away.
[4] Keep chasing the Nue Malefact.
Koo will learn Dokuzeri: Fang II and while Emma will learn Blade Art/Finisher: Dokuzeri. Stay on the path and follow the quest marker.
Once again, there will be a bunch of pipes you must traverse. Here, go right.
Keep on going until you reach this control panel. Interact with it to open the gate.
[5] Defeat Shidou and Nue.
Before battle, Shidou talks about everything eating each other up. He calls the Nue Malefact his sister. Seems like his aim with Emma is to 'possess' the vessel.
Shidou can deflect attacks and alternates between his unavoidable ground smash and striking at Emma. Both he and the Nue Malefact are weak to poison. Both also give many chances to deflect and gain FP points for Koo.
Seems like Shidou and his sister were turned away by society and neglected. A beast ate his sister and his journey seems primarily motivated by revenge. He and Erica escape while Emma gets a sudden headache and then faints.
[6] Rest at the Cleanse Walker.
Emma wakes up with Kagura sleeping by her bedside. While inspecting herself, Emma finds that the effects of the blight on her body have become worse. Violet is worried but Emma says she'll find it in time. "It" being a world where Violet can live by her side.
Koo appears in the dream world with Emma. Violet ponders on why. Perhaps it's because once she leaves, at least Koo will be with Emma. She's afraid of what her recovering her memories will bring and that it will lead Emma into danger.
