Prologue Summary
The player controls Emma. Immediately, she is made to rush into action with her trusty companion, Koo. They fight animals that do not look quite right and automatons on their way to a Nushi's lair. When they get there, a man named Shidou beckons Emma to fight him.

Prologue Walkthrough
[1] Learn the controls.
A girl's voice talks about emotions only being a hindrance to humanity.
Emma, the main character, is seen in the Cleanse Walker, looking after an ill-looking Kagura. Bauera, the Cleanse Walker's Artificial Intelligence (AI) tells her that the miasma approaches.
Emma decides she has to go out now in order to avoid the Cleanse Walker from being surrounded by the : Nushi are the large monsters of the blight. They are the in-game bosses.. Bauera stops and Emma exits with Koo.
Emma will run towards the action.

| Immediately, you will be taught how to attack and guard. If you guard at the right time when you are attacked, it will be considered a parry. Parries will increase the Stagger Bar underneath the health points of the enemy. Once the down meter is filled, Emma can unleash a special attack to secure a kill. |

| You can stop time to command Koo to do a skill. For attacking skills, a quick time event (QTE) will be implemented. If done correctly, the attack will do more damage. |

| Use your 'hair' as a hook to jump to greater heights. By hair, the game actually means the roots of the plants around Emma, by which can be controlled for both navigation and battle |

| Emma has a small crossbow she can use with one arm. Use it to deal with flying Malefacts. |
[2] Look for the Nushi's Lair.
A young woman named Violet will be seen side by side with Emma. Keep pressing forward and fight the golems and malefacts in Emma's way. Bauer will talk about needing to get to a Nushi's lair.
At the Nushi's lair, a man named Shidou can be found. Emma runs towards him, seemingly with killing intent.
