Minamoto no Yoshitsune Summary
Minamoto no Yoshitsune is the final boss in Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Musashi encounters him at the end of the last main quest, The Way of the Sword. He is a legendary sword saint who can also absorb souls and transform into a more powerful and younger version of himself.

After beating him in the first phase, Yoshitsune absorbs the souls in Musashi's Oni gauntlet and transforms into a stronger and younger body.

How to Beat Minamoto no Yoshitsune

Yoshitsune tests everything Musashi has learned throughout the game, while also throwing in a few new tricks of his own. Be comfortable with all the defensive moves in your arsenal and familiarize yourself with his attacks.
This is a long fight, so learning how to counter his go-to moves will help you sustain through all three phases.

Watch out for his execute slash that he usually uses to counter when Musashi is throwing combos at him. The only way to defend from this is parrying at the right moment.
The best way to counter most of his attacks is the Issen. It will not work on everything, but it's the most efficient way to manage his go-to moves and combos while also maintaining a level of aggressiveness.
For his devastating Charged Slash (which can only be countered with Issen), you can save your blue souls and use your Oni Armament at the right moment to evade the damage.
In the third phase, you can only deal damage to his health during Oni Awakening so make sure you maximize ever second when it's available.
Don't forget to use the finisher when your Oni Awakening is about to end.
