Careful What You Wish For Summary
Musashi sets off to go cleanse another part of Eastern Kyoto. He chances upon these people who act bizarrely about this certain shrine that 'grants wishes', albeit in a way that seems to actually make the situation worse for the one involved.
He finds strength with the Eight Stout Pillars and defeats the Genma who took over the shrine, Rasho-gan, with the help of the spirit of an old Oni hero, Yorimasa.

Careful What You Wish For Walkthrough
[1] Look for anything strange
Select the marker on the map and go towards it in-game.
Defeat the encountered Genma.
Talk to the Calm Woman. She claims that the shrine up ahead can solve Musashi's problems.
[2] Gather clues about the shrine.
Talk to the people around the shrine to gather information.

[3] Look for the Eight Stout Pillars.
Visit the grave of the oni, Yorimasa. Shizuka talks about him briefly before saying they should look for the Eight Stout Pillars to ask for help.
Upon visiting the shrine, it is clear that some of the pillars are missing. The Genma who took over the shrine convinced humans to take them away. They say they will lend their strength if their brethren are returned.
[4] Find the stolen Stout Pillars.
Seventh Stout Pillar
Go to the location below. The gate on the eastern side (facing the gates) is locked, so skip trying to open it.

Defeat the Genma.
Climb up to the rooftop to retrieve the statue.

First Stout Pillar
After acquiring the Seventh Brother, enter the house the Genma come out of.
Go to the attic and then crawl out to the outside.

Defeat the Genma.
Retrieve the Stout Pillar.
Third Stout Pillar
Follow the marker to find the last pillar.

Get rid of the Genma.
Destroy the vase and retrieve the pillar.
[5] Return the pillars to the Hachidai Rikison Shrine.
Place the pillars back into the shrine.
Absorb the dark mass. Musashi will be brought into a space showing Rasho-gan 'fulfilling' people's wishes.
[6] Defeat Rasho-gan.
While Shizuka points out that the threads give power to the boss, you can't actually sever them. Instead, focus on deflecting their attacks and greatly reducing their stamina bar.
During their second phase, be carefull of their tornado attack where they lunge at you like a drill. They also expand their long-ranged attacks.
After defeating Rasho-gan, he runs away and escapes. Fortunately, he is stopped by Yorimasa's arrow.
Yorimasa assesses that Musashi is worthy and gives him the power to wield the strength of the Eight Stout Pillars. Musashi can now wield Oni Strength and get rid of Malice Barriers.
You can also now exchange items with Yorimasa using Red Souls.
