Take On the Carnage Difficulty

Take On the Carnage Difficulty

Beating the story for the first time unlocks the Carnage, the game's hardest difficulty setting. It isn't available on your first playthrough, so you'll need to clear the game on Story or Action mode first before you can select Carnage for your New Game+ run.

Another fun reward for clearing the game is the Wataru-kun Costume and the infamous returning Panda Costume.

Start Your New Game+ Run

Start Your New Game+ Run

Once Carnage unlocks, you can carry your save into New Game+ instead of starting from scratch. Your Awakened Oni abilities, enhanced Skills, Hozuki Pouches, Charms, Genma Notes, and Lion Dogs all carry over.

Red Souls, equipment enhancements, clothing, and your Spirit Mirror and mission progress all reset, so spend down what you can before the final mission.

Test Your Skills in Boss Rematch

Test Your Skills in Boss Rematch

The Boss Rematch arena in the Practice Ground lets you refight every main boss one-on-one. If you're going for full completion, you'll need to clear all of them on Carnage difficulty, so save this for once your build is fully maxed out.

Go for the Platinum

Getting every trophy takes at least two playthroughs. You'll need one run to unlock Carnage, then a full New Game+ clear on that difficulty, followed by beating the Boss Rematch arena on Carnage too. Most trophies come naturally from progress and collectibles, and cleaning up side content on your first run saves you extra work down the line.
