Is there Character Creation
No. The story follows the character Musashi Miyamoto who has a set character design. However, while you cannot alter Musashi's features, you can still dress him up in skins to change his appearance.
Character Customization
Skins only affect the physical appearance of the character or their item. They do not affect gameplay in any way.
Their appearance can be changed in the Spirit Mirror in-game. This will be available through game progression.
Musashi's Skins
Mushashi can acquire skins through the Deluxe and Premium Deluxe editions of the game or through playing certain challenges, such as fighting a boss again. You may also alter the haori that Musashi wears.

Sword and Gauntlet Skins
You may also alter the appearance of Musashi's Sword and Gauntlet. Some Sword skins can be acquired by pre-ordering the game.

NPC Skins
Some NPCs, such as the Oni Lady and Okuni, can also have their appearance in the game changed. The skins below are specifically from the Premium Deluxe Edition of the game.
