Difficulty Levels
When you first start the game, it will give you a choice between two difficulty levels: Story and Action. The latter is for more experienced players who want a more challenging time while playing. This difficulty can be switched at any time.
How to Unlock Carnage Difficulty
Carnage Difficulty can be chosen after finishing the game once. It is only available in New Game Plus.
Carnage Difficulty Differences
The main difference in Carnage is that you cannot switch the action prompts accessibility feature 'on' at all unlike the others. You also cannot change the difficulty to "Action" or "Story" difficulty during the playthrough.
Here are some other differences with Carnage mode since it carries over the progress from the first playthrough:
- Enhanced Basic and Special abilities have been kept
- Enemies have more damage output
- Hokuzi Pouch upgrades have been kept
- Oni abilities already awakened
