Beginner Tips and Tricks
Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival is a survival horror game that mixes action and exploration. Combat is integral to the game with certain sections requiring stealth. It requires preparation and quick thinking to help Aidan Lynch get Sunny back from the Cenobites.
The tips below should help those who are starting their journey into Clive Barker's world:
[1] Use the Genesis Configuration as much as possible in combat.
The Genesis Configuration is a powerful tool that can be used to grab and throw metal items and fire at enemies. Not only do these items deal significant damage against enemies, they also chip away armor and stagger them.
This is essential when going against bosses, armored or elite enemies, and groups of enemies. Not only can you make quick work of them, but you also conserve ammo.
[2] Craft and pick up Crafting Materials as much as you can.
There are tons of crafting materials lying around in every exploration section of Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival (except the Labyrinth sections). So, you will most likely find yourself unable to pick them all up as your crafting material inventory is full.
The solution? Craft as many items as you can, like health, ammo, and repair kits. This also grants you a bit more freedom in your gameplay to make mistakes, spend ammo, and take hits. Of course, this doesn't mean you should be reckless and careless. Just keep in mind that you are not as helpless as you think you are.
[3] Spend more ammo to get more ammo.
Since there are more crafting materials than you would probably expect in a survival horror game, you can craft more ammo. Crafting more ammo means being able to shoot more, and shooting more means spending more ammo!
You won't have to feel defenseless against groups of enemies, elite enemies, or bosses knowing you can unload ammo and restock them by crafting and buying more from Zora Beckett.
[4] Always come prepared. Stay armed.
You never know when the next boss fight happens, so always try to make sure you have enough weapons and ammo for one. Most areas can always be revisited for items you failed to pick up.
Yes, there are sections that will be locked behind, but this rarely happens.
It is better to spend time backtracking and getting items left behind than getting softlocked in a boss fight because you do not have the right items to deal with them.
Boss fights rarely require more than two firearms and one melee weapon. We recommend bringing a shotgun or a revolver as one of the firearms as they deal tons of damage.
[5] Sell valuables and items you do not need.
If you find yourself lacking inventory or storage box space, you can always sell them to Zora. Certain items like bandages and repair kits can always be crafted.
Not only does selling extra items give you money and open up extra space in your inventory or storage box, it also allows you to craft more items so you can pick up more crafting materials later on.
