A New Life in Lumiose City Walkthrough | Pokemon Legends Z-A

It's been one unexpected development after another, but your new life in Lumiose is off to an exciting start. Have your new friend Taunie/Urbain show you the ropes.

It's a brand new day! Head down to the first floor and start "A New Life in Lumiose City" Main Mission.

[1] Meet up with your New Friend in the Lobby.

・Take the elevator and talk to Taunie or Urbain in the lobby. They want your help participating in the Z-A Royale, a battle tournament to determine the greatest Pokémon Trainer in the city.

・Check your Rotom Phone for the invitation. Then, join Team MZ to officially sign up for the tournament.

・There will be a tutorial for The Z-A Royale App afterward. Use this to check your current standings (Rank and Points) and to check your opponent for the next Promotion Match.

・Listen to Taunie or Urbain for the basics of being a Pokémon Trainer!

・Your training will be interrupted briefly by Lida.

[2] Have a Pokémon Battle with Taunie or Urbain in front of the Hotel.

・When you're ready, head outside to start the match. Make use of the techniques you've learned during the battle!

・They will send out two of the Starter Pokémon you did not choose earlier. (Chikorita, Tepig, or Totodile) This battle will also serve as a guide for Pokémon Types.

・Once the battle is finished, you'll unlock the Lumiose City Map!

[3] Visit the Pokémon Center in front of the Gare de Lumiose.

・Oh no! Looks like you'll need to take the longer path since there are some boulders blocking your original route.

・Climb the ladder and keep following your friend to reach the destination. You can also use the Main Mission marker as a guide.

[4] Learn All About Pokémon Centers.

・Head inside the Vert Pokémon Center and talk to Nurse Joy. These are places where you can heal your Pokémon and buy some items.

・Install the Pokédex app. Then, take on their promotional challenge of catching and registering five new species of Pokémon!

[5] Visit a Wild Zone to catch a Pokémon.

・Follow Taunie or Urbain and enter Wild Zone 1. These sectioned-off areas are identifiable by the green lights on your in-game Map.

[6] Throw a Poké Ball to catch Fletchling!

・After receiving 10 Poké Balls, try to catch the nearby Fletchling!

[7] Use your Pokémon's moves to reduce Bunnelby's HP, then throw a Poké Ball at it to try to catch it.

・The second Pokémon you'll need to catch is a Bunnelby. Be careful since it's more aggressive and will attack once it notices you.

・When Bunnelby is caught, your friend will give you another 10 Poké Balls. If you need more, you can buy them at Pokémon Centers.

[8] Register at least five species of Pokémon to your Pokédex, then head to the Pokémon Research Lab for your reward.

・You can crouch in tall grass while trying to catch some of the other Pokémon (Scatterbug, Weedle, Pidgey, Mareep, and Pichu) in this Wild Zone.

・Optional: There's a nearby NPC who'll give you 5 Potions. You can also talk to the lady at a stall for 1 Lumiose Galette.

・Once you're done, claim your prize at the third floor of the Pokémon Research Lab.

[9] Go report your Pokédex-filling success at the Pokémon Research Lab.

・Take the elevator to reach 3F: Director's Office.

・Talk to Mable to unlock Mable's Research Requests.

[10] Open the Main Menu to check out your Research Request from Mable.

・Claim your Rock Smash TM! Complete more of Mabel's requests and raise your Research Level for more rewards.

[11] Return to Hotel Z to meet up with Taunie or Urbain.

・Naveen, a member of Team MZ, will greet you outside the lab. He'll also give you a stylish Striped Trilby.

・If you'd like, you can also change your outfit and looks using the Main Menu.

・Your friend will call and give you a tip to use your new TM.

・Check your Satchel and use the Rock Smash TM to Bunnelby.

・Send Bunnelby out and break the Boulder Blockage near the lab's entrance! You can pick up a Revive after that.

・Using this new ability, you can now remove the blockage on your way back to the Hotel.

・To end this Main Mission, just enter Hotel Z and you'll be greeted by Taunie or Urbain.

NOTE: Did you know? You can claim a free Ralts and Gardevoirite Mega Stone by opening the Mystery Gift in the Main Menu and selecting "Get via Internet". This gift is available until February 28th, 2026.
