Southern Caves Summary

Elliot and his fairy companion, Faie, travel to the Southern Caves to reach the Doorway of Time and return to the Age of Safekeeping. Along the way, they encounter a Shrine that can unlock more of Faie's power.

Southern Caves Walkthrough

[1] Head to the Southern Caves.

Starting from Heurich's Camp at Northern Westerea, cross the bridge, then head south to find the Cave.

FIRST AREA: Southern Caves - Marshlands Exit

After entering the Cave, head straight to encounter a rare monster called Jewelrie.

If you come across this shiny fiend, you may have hit the jackpot since they drop Tul! Keep in mind that they have a hard shell, so chipping away at their HP might be a challenge the first time around.

Go past the Blue Chest that can't be reached for now, climb the ladder, and pick up the "A Guide to Holy Places" Manuscript before exiting.

[2] Enter the Strange Structure.

Elliot and Faie arrive at the Open Plateau. Go inside the nearby Shrine of the Mystic - Ignite.

[3] Inspect the Central Platform.

Start the trial by interacting with the Central Platform. To learn the Ignite Fairy Power, the two must clear the Hall of Mastery.

[4] Make Your Way Through the Southern Caves.

Elliot can now continue to the next area of the Southern Caves. Check your equipment and stock up on supplies because a boss is waiting ahead!

SEC0ND AREA: Southern Caves - Desert Exit

Light up the Brazier to unlock the stone wall blocking the path. Then, head south to trigger the battle.

[5] Defeat The Rathomobile.

Unlike the other bosses so far, the Rathomobile has a shield up. Elliot must break through its defenses before reducing its HP.

[6] Explore the Southern Caves.

After winning the battle, pick up the loot, turn left, and head north to get the Heavy Hammer inside a Red Chest.

Bring the hammer down with all your might! It can stun enemies and pound down any pegs you might find blocking your way.

OPTIONAL: Backtrack to Southern Caves - Marshlands Exit

Now that Elliot has the hammer, he can finally reach the Blue Chest in the area from earlier.

[7] Leave the Southern Caves.

Head back to the area where you fought the Rathomobile and use the hammer to remove the peg at the south end.

Take the right exit to leave the Southern Caves.

[8] Get to Know Faie.

Elliot questions Faie about her origins, though she can only recall scattered memories of a mission to "save the kingdom".

After their conversation, Elliot continues his journey back to Littlehope Village to return home and check on Kingdom Huther.
