Endings Guide

SPOILER ALERT
SpoilerThe details below contain spoilers for the Main Story.

There are three endings in the game, distinguishable by Bronze, Silver, and Gold medals. To fully experience the storyline, it's best to save the True Ending for last! Below are the steps on how to get each one.

How to Unlock the Bad Ending

As Long as Any Hope Remains Requirements

Bad Ending

  1. Go through the Main Story without any detours.

    Bronze

After getting the "Head to the Sorcerer's Location" objective, go to the Northern Tower to fight the boss.

This is the easiest ending to get since it doesn't require any special items or preparation, so just follow the objectives until the end.

  2. Defeat The Sorcerer

    The Sorcerer

Win the battle against The Sorcerer to trigger the ending.

How to Unlock the Good Ending

The Peace in Which We Walk Requirements

The Peace in Which We Walk

Before fighting the Beast of Enmity (another name for the Sorcerer), you will need to:

  1. Find the Leytstaf Holy Sword.

    Leytstaf

It is found inside a Red Chest at the Water Ruins in the Age of Reconstruction.

  2. Get the Lustrous Bell.

    Bell

Complete all the stories and return to Lyudmila's House in the Age of Budding.

  3. Search the World for the Three Sages.

    Cat Sages

Boyne — Mount Phoenix in the Age of Reconstruction

Wynat — Grandtree in the Age of Budding

Thiew — Geared Ruins in the Age of Magic

Meeting all three sages teaches Elliot the Nomutōta (Mystic Seal).

  4. Seal the Beast of Enmity with Nomutōta.

    Beast of Enmity

Once done, head to the Northern Tower and face the Beast of Enmity. Equip the Leytstaf, reduce its health, then finish the fight with a fully charged Level 4 Mystic Seal attack as the final blow to seal it.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Don't accidentally finish the fight with a regular attack; you'll end up with the Bronze/Bad Ending!

How to Unlock the True Ending

At the Thousand-Year Journey’s End Requirements

At the Thousand-Year Journey’s End

Complete all the steps from the Good Ending (except the final boss fight), then:

  1. Revisit all Ages to complete more stories:

Age of Budding — Go to Lyudmila's House and head to the Dragonpillar. Defeat the boss in Grandtree to complete the Quest for this Age.

Age of Magic — Go to Mao's House and get Mao's Pendant. Head to the Northern Tower, then the Southern Caves, and return to the Northern Tower once more.

Age of Reconstruction — Visit Mao's House and speak with the doctor. Complete his request for medicine, then return to Huther.

  2. Get the Amber Pendant

Head to Heuria's Room in the Age of Safekeeping and pick up the Amber Pendant.

Equip this before heading to the Northern Tower, since it reduces damage taken from the Beast of Enmity by 50% and is required to access the True Ending route.

  3. Make sure you've collected enough Cats first.

The last step before proceeding to the boss fight is to check that you have collected 35 Cats or more.

  4. Head to the Northern Tower and face the Beast of Enmity.

Enter the Northern Tower and when the battle begins, do not attack the Beast of Enmity. Instead, perform multiple perfect guards. After the sequence, the story will continue toward a secret final boss, and defeating it will unlock the True Ending!
