A Spear with a Past Summary
Euygene needs you to retrieve 3 flamestones from Fire Elementals for his research. Once you are able to do so, he'll gift you the spear he used in his youth.

You must have finished the Unexplored Ruins dungeon in the Age of Safekeeping.

A Spear with a Past Walkthrough
[1] Go to Euygene
Go to the Royal Study for Magic Research. The stairs leading there is at the right side of Huther Castle.
Speak with Euygene. He needs some help with his research, and he'll give you his old spear that's of better use to you if you are able to do so.
[2] Kill 3 Fire Elementals
Head for Eastern Eddartrayl. Fire Elementals can be found in the southern Desert Area.
Once you've gained 3 Flamestones, return to Huther Castle.
[3] Speak with Euygene again
You'll find Euygene looking at the spear he used to use. He too, wanted to be an adventurer like Elliot, but he found he wasn't fit to be one. So he instead became a scholar, the most trusted one to the Royal Family. Eugyene was able to research unhindered thanks to Elliot's efforts. He kept the spear to be reminded of past efforts, but it's more useful in Elliot's hands. Elliot hopes to live up to that expectation.
A Spear with a Past Rewards
For your efforts, you gain access to the Sapling Spear, the first spear of the game! It has a long range, and the special attack will send Elliot charging forward. It lacks horizontal range, so make sure the tip is pointed at the enemy!
