Institute Initiation Walkthrough
[1] Talk to Principal Oswen and Nicole at the Polaris Institute.
When the previous adventure ends, you get a brief introduction to the continent of Idyll.
Nicole then introduces you to Professor Oswin, head of the Polaris Institute. He invites you to join the institute so you can meet the Aniimo at the Mural again.
Before you make your decision, he tells Nicole to sort things out for you.
Visit the Skylight Camera. Afterwards, you can continue following Nicole to the front desk. Alternatively, you can roam around the entire lobby to meet professors and get more information about the Polaris Institute.
Try meeting with Bohr and Lita to learn more about the Institute! Bohr will also allow you to sign up for a Prismatic Aniimo Egg!
[2] Finish the Institute tour and make your choice at the front desk.
Speak with Nai-li at the front desk when you're done exploring.
Say yes when asked if you want to join the Polaris Institute. Saying otherwise will start a strange dream sequence that prompts you to answer the question yes again.
Complete the enrollment ceremony to officially enroll in the Polaris Institute.
[3] Report to Dr. Lewis.
After completing your enrollment, follow Nicole up the ramp and report to Dr. Lewis.
He'll ask you if you're really ready for Idyll, and both answers will satisfy him.
After that, Professor Lewis will give you a Case, as well as your first Badge.
The Badges will serve as proof of your progression in-game!
Use the teleporter to go to Idyll.
[4] Upload your Catch Results.
At the Outpost, interact with the Research Console to upload your catch results.
Talk to Dr. Lewis after uploading your results.
[5] Follow Dr. Lewis out of the Outpost.
Follow Dr. Lewis, and he will give you a nice view of Idyll.
Then, he will give you your first objective. Reach the Branch you see in the distance!
