Holo-Battle Sim Overview
The Training Courses
The game mode features three Training Courses of one element. Every season, the courses reset completely featuring new challenges for you to face.
Each Training Course comes in four difficulties. In order of easiest to hardest:
- Easy
- Normal
- Hard
- Challenge
The courses will also show you which elements are effective in this course and even recommends Aniimos to use. This can be seen on the lower left corner.
Floors and Events
Each Training Course features different floors and events that need to be cleared in order to beat the whole course. Every floor differs from the last, throwing new enemies at you, and all of them are timed. If the timer runs out, enemy attack power increases until you can't take any more.
Each floor is different from the last, and sometimes you will have the choice of what kind of event you will face. Here are the kinds of events are available:
| Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Combat | Regular combat floor. Defeat the waves of enemies to clear the floor. |
| Elite Combat | A harder variant of the Combat Event. |
| Controllable Event | Freely choose a free bonus for your run |
| Risk Event | Gamble on a chance to get a bonus for your run. How you will get that bonus is different each run. |
| Rest | A floor where you can restore health to you Aniimos by 30%, revive fallen Aniimos, and purchase additional Gizmos |
| Alpha | Bosses of the Training Course. This always appears on the Fourth Floor of 10-Floor runs. Appears on the Fourth and Ninth Floors of 16-Floor runs. |
Training Styles
Before every run, there are several different Training Styles you can choose. Training Styles are essentially categories for your build each run in the Training Course. Each style is different and offers a different way to play and each one also has a unique Alpha Aniimo for you to twine with. Selecting one of the styles will increase the chances of you finding a Gizmo of that respective style.
| Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Energy | Boosts EP Gain and Skill Damage. Lets you twine with Alpha Irisal. |
| Surge | Boosts Ultimate Damage, Ulitmate Points gain, and Break damage. Lets you twine with Alpha Blazen. |
| Valor | Boosts overall damage the more damage you take. Lets you twine with Alpha Scorhhowl. |
| Vitality | Grants you buffs whenever you heal yourself. Lets you twine with Alpha Leafy. |
| Ironclad | Boosts defense stats and encourages close combat. Lets you twine with Alpha Helgon. |
| Defense | Grants you buffs whenever you have a shield. Lets you twine with Alpha Tubster. |
| Wealth | Increases the rate Training Coins are dropped and increases damage by how much you have earned. Lets you twine with Alpha Stellarys. |
If you do not know what Training Style to pick, you can always select a random one and receive 1000 Training Coins.
Holo-Gizmos
Holo-Gizmos grant buffs to you Aniimos during combat. They come in a variety of different rarities and give different effects.
The ones you should be on the lookout for are Core Holo-Gizmos. These are gizmos with gold halos behind them and are the, well, core of the six Training Styles and selecting additional copies the same one in a run can grant further boosts.
There three main ways to get Holo-Gizmos:
- Clear a floor
- Purchase them in the Rest Floor
- Receive them as a bonus in Controllable Event or Risk Event
Alpha Aniimo Twining
Selecting a Training Style at the start also lets you choose an Alpha Aniimo to twine with. The Alpha Aniimos are essentially playable versions of the Alpha bosses found throughout Idyll. These Aniimos are available for twining once you have three Holo-gizmos of their associated Training Style.
These Alpha Aniimos have their own skillsets. Their stats, on the other hand, are determined by the stats of your team . Get more Holo-gizmos of their respective style and they will receive additional upgrades like boosted stats or additional effects.
How are the Rewards given?
Rewards in the Holo-Battle Sim are given in two ways.
The first is the standard First-Time Clear. Simply clear each difficulty in each Training Course for the first time and you will receive the rewards. The First-TIme Clear rewards are reset every new season.
The second way is through the Training Incentives. These rewards are given when you do clear its respective difficulty. They reset every seven days throughout the season so be sure to take the time to complete it!
Tips on Clearing Training Courses
Choose the Right Aniimos
Enemies of the Training Course are still vulnerable to the Aniimo Type Chart, so choose the ones that are most effective against that element. That will not be enough, though. Some Aniimos are better in this game mode than others, both in terms of stats and skills.
As an example, Hexxin is a great Aniimo for a Grass and Water Training Course. Not only are they effective against those elements, but they can also group enemies up, allowing you to follow up with a strong attack and clear the floor more efficiently.
Train and Gear up your Aniimos
Each Training Course also has a recommended level. If your Aniimos are underleveled, especially the damage dealing ones, you will feel how wide the gap is. Also be sure your Aniimos are equipped for the job with the proper Held Item. Level them up, gear them up, and awaken their potential.
Do not be afraid to choose the easier floors
While choosing an Elite Battle floor may seem alluring, if your Aniimos are not equipped for the job, you may see your run end sooner rather than later. Go pick the easier ones if you know your build is not ready yet.
Mix and Match Gizmos and Styles
Some Holo-Gizmos in the game actually do pair well with others. For example, there is a Vitality Gizmo that can give shields upon healing which pairs well with a Defense build. Always read what the Holo-Gizmo does before choosing another as it might be more useful to you in the long run.
