A Fragrant Journey: Echoback Landing Summary

Elvira is a perfumer who's been struggling to make a perfume about longing since her mother's death. She suggests looking for something called the Whalesong Blossom.

You then meet a mysterious painter spotted at Echoback Landing, painting what appears to be a massive skeleton. He introduces himself as Sorora. He suffers from amnesia and travels to places hoping the paintings will help him remember.

How to Unlock A Fragrant Journey: Echoback Landing

This is available during the Main Story Journey to Bloomville.

This can be found at the boundary of Breezy Plains and Sea of Flowers.

[1] Talk to Elvira

A perfumer named Elvira struggles with her craft as she's grief-stricken from the loss of her mother. Her attempts at bottling longing into a scent haven't worked so far, and she points you toward the Whalesong Blossom, which could be found at Echoback Landing.

[2] Talk to the Mysterious Painter

You meet an amnesiac painter by the name of Sorora. He tells you of the legend of the Echoback and that painting it would bring back his memories. So far, no luck. Maybe you can help!

[3] Strike the Echonite at night

Change the time to night, then twine to a Fire-type Aniimo. Next, hit the glowing Echonite with a fire skill. A long streak of white light will guide you to the next Echonite

After all the Echonites have been lit, a beautiful scene will play out involving a mother Echoback, her children and deceased lover. Despite her loss, the mother continues on.

[4] Get the Whalesong Blossom

After the cutscene, a flower called the Whalesong Blossom will sprout. Get the flower!

[5] Talk to Sorora Again

Sorora was able to finish his painting of the Echobacks. He gives you the painting as a keepsake, telling you that he keep travelling in search of other images buried in his memory.

[6] Give the Whalesong Blossom to Elvira

Go to Elvira and give her the Whalesong Blossom. She tells you she's been looking for this flower for a while.

Elvira explains that she bottled her grief by creating a perfume that embodies it, and when she found a lone Echoback singing, it led her to a flower carrying the scent of longing. With your help, she's able to make a perfume called Whisper of Longing.
