What Lurks Beyond the Pines Walkthrough - Dying Light The Beast

Talk to Eli in the Town Hall. You can unlock this during the Power Gambit Main Quest.

A survivor from Town Hall needs help.

Eli asks Kyle for help in finding his father, William, who suffers from dementia. To begin his search, Kyle decides to check the family's old home near the lake first.

1 Investigate William's House.

・Once you’re inside the house, you can read the Letter from William's Wife. It seems that Eli didn’t have an ideal childhood as his mother left their home when he was young because of William’s cruelty.

・After this, head to your right and inspect the desk. There’s a Map and Key on top of it! Looks like Kyle wouldn’t have problems in solving this case. Grab the Cave Spare Key to get your new Quest Objective.

・There's also the nearby Congratulatory Letter that you can check out.

・You can also grab Common Valuables and Resources while you're in the area!


2 Find the entrance to nearby caves.

・After reaching the Objective Area, unlock the door using the Key you got earlier.


3 Find William in the caves.

・The path is pretty straightforward, just keep heading deeper into the Cave until you see William. Talk to him and he’ll mistake you as Eli.

・During their conversation, William admitted what he did. He pointed out this cave as a place where the police can put the unvaccinated people, which likely was the reason his wife left him.

・You can read or take the nearby Police Note.

・Turns out, getting William home is a lot harder than it looks. Before he'll go, he wants you to help the people trapped inside by ending their misery, since they have now become monsters.


4 Reconnect explosives with detonators.

・Connect the first explosive by interacting with the cable next to William.

・Continue following the Quest markers until the second one is reconnected with their respective detonators.

・Then, follow and check the cable leading to the third explosive.

・Fix the broken part of the cable.

・Connect the fourth explosive.


5 Talk to William.

・After a heartfelt talk with William, he decides to wash away his sins. He'll first give his knife to you before he does.


6 Talk to Eli back in the Town Hall.

・Once you deliver the news to Eli, it looks like he isn’t ready to forgive his father yet.

・Eli refuses to take William’s Knife and insists that you should keep it.
