As an old proverb goes: never poke the beaver. A fisherman in Belarus learned this lesson the hard way when he tried snapping a picture of one of these seemingly harmless little creatures. The disturbed beaver wasn't having it and launched a full-on counterattack, delivering a series of bites. Tragically, one of those bites hit an artery in the man's leg, leading to a fatal injury.
Sure, they may look goofy, but beneath those fuzzy faces lies a serious weapon - teeth reinforced with iron-rich enamel. Those teeth can bite with a great force, strong enough to slice through hardwoods as tough as human bone. Yeah, let that sink in.
