Type
Dr. Peter Paulaner Diaries
Description
The Diary of Dr. Peter Paulaner is a collection of entries documenting his personal experiences with the sinister Project 1913 experiments.

Summary

Dr. Peter Paulaner's third and last diary entry consists of his desperate attempts at learning the truth behind the connection of the Asylum to the dark legacy of the Fischer family.

He first stumbled upon an old ledger that detailed Eleanor Fischer. Then, a brittle newspaper clipping confirmed that Eleanor was an ancestor who was executed for witchcraft and that the Fischer family is still continuing her work to unleash darkness on the world. Dr. Paulaner believes that this is the real reason behind Heinrich’s experiments and madness.

The last part of his diary describes the horrific acts at the asylum as rituals, and the final piece of Fischer’s plan is hidden in a safe in his private study. Dr. Paulaner wishes he could open this safe before Fischer catches on to what he's doing.

DIARY OF PETER PAULANER NO.3 (MAY 1913)

Diary Entry 17 (May 5th, 1913):

I came across an old ledger today while organizing some of the Director's personal papers. In it was a name I had never heard of before: Eleanor Fischer, noted only as "deceased." But this was not in the usual records. Something about this entry was different—almost like it was deliberately hidden. When I asked one of the older nurses, she grew pale and whispered a single word: "witch."

There are rumors among the townsfolk that one of Fischer's ancestors was burned as a witch centuries ago, before the asylum was even built. Some say the land is cursed, that the Fischer family has always dabbled in dark arts. It is, of course, nonsense... isn't it?

Diary Entry 18 (May 10th, 1913):

Fischer's obsession with psychic abilities is more than just scientific curiosity. He speaks now of unlocking the "hidden potential of humanity," but I see it for what it is—madness. His patients are no longer human. They are something else. I must escape, but the asylum is locked down. No one enters or leaves without his approval.

Diary Entry 19 (May 12th, 1913):

While sifting through old patient records in the asylum's dusty archives, I stumbled upon a brittle newspaper clipping wedged between the pages of a forgotten ledger. The paper was yellowed with age, the ink fading but still legible. Dated October 31st, 1893, it bore a chilling headline: "Eleanor Fischer Burned at the Stake for Witchcraft."

My pulse quickened as I read the harrowing account. Eleanor Fischer, an ancestor of Heinrich, was executed in this very valley centuries ago. Accused of summoning unholy spirits and casting malevolent curses upon the townsfolk, she met a fiery end. Eyewitnesses claimed that as the flames consumed her, she uttered a final, ominous prophecy—a vow that her bloodline would continue her work and unleash darkness upon the world.

The article had been underlined in red ink, the year 1693 circled repeatedly. Someone-likely Heinrich himself-had deemed this event of great significance. Could it be that his relentless pursuit of piercing the veil between worlds is an attempt to fulfill his ancestor's ominous promise? Is he driven not by madness alone but by a twisted sense of destiny?

The realization sent a shiver down my spine. The atrocities committed here are not mere experiments but rituals-steps in a grand, sinister design that has been centuries in the making. I fear that the very foundations of St. Valentine Asylum are built upon a legacy of evil, one that Heinrich intends to resurrect.

I must uncover more. Time is running short, and the shadows grow ever darker.

Diary Entry 20 (May 15th, 1913):

I've discovered the final piece of Fischer's plan. In his private study, behind a false wall, I found an old safe-locked, of course. But I know the answer. The year the witch was burned. Eleanor Fischer. It was as though she left a mark on this place, and Fischer intends to finish what she started. I hope I'll be able to stop him before he realizes I'm aware of his plans. And I'm afraid he's suspicious of me lately.

The safe contains the truth—I am sure of it. But I fear what I will find inside. The asylum, the experiments, the twisted minds... it all traces back to that cursed year.
