4. Form the dough, place the fruits, and wrap them into neat little balls.

5. Place these dumplings in boiling water seasoned with a little salt and sugar. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes (but no more than 30!).

Fruit Dumplings by Jori's Grandma

A traditional Polish recipe, lovingly prepared by a grandma for her granddaughter, Jori.

Ingredients:
- 1/2 kg peeled potatoes
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup potato starch
- 400 g seasonal fruits (e.g., strawberries, blueberries, plums)
- salt, pepper, sugar

Instructions:
1. Boil the peeled potatoes in salted water, let them cool, and mash them with a potato masher.
2. On a pastry board, smooth out the potatoes to create an even surface.
3. Crack in the egg and add a pinch of salt and pepper.
4. Add enough flour to make the dough firm but still soft.
5. Knead the dough by hand until it is smooth and uniform.
6. Cut the fruits into smaller pieces to prevent the dumplings from bursting.
7. In your hand, form a fairly thin patty from the dough.
8. Place the fruits on the patty and wrap them in the dough to form a ball.
9. Boil water with a pinch of salt and sugar, and once boiling, add the dumplings.
10. Cook them for 10-15 minutes (no longer than 30 minutes!).
