Only six of these pendants have ever been found, and they're all linked to women. Was it a lucky charm? A medieval evil-eye repellent? Or just peak rodent couture? Whatever the answer, this necklace proves that even the humblest materials can become priceless with a little artistry - and, of course, some gold.
This cozy gallery was built as a wedding gift for Ingrid Lüneburg, who loved 17th-century art. Her fiancé, Peter Houke, had it filled with her favorite paintings.
