Catacombs of Paris Walkthrough (Chapter 5) Summary

You traverse the Catacombs of Paris to reach Dracula's Castle and stop his resurrection.

Catacombs of Paris Walkthrough (Chapter 5)

[1] Stop the Resurrection of Dracula.

• Catacomb Entrance

Start by going down the left path.

Keep going until you reach this area. Destroy this section to reach a statue that you can use to level up.

Keep going right to arrive at another area. You can take the route above or go straight through. If you go up, avoid the sawblades to earn a Brave Heart Fragment, and you loop back to the two paths when you exit. If you head right, a couple of monsters spawn, so take them out!

• Path of the Abyss

The next area is straightforward. Take out the monsters and avoid the sawblades.

• Quarry Elevator

At the Quarry Elevator, the path splits again. The left path leads to a Mirror of Life where you can save. The right path leads to an elevator to the lower levels, which is locked for now.

Continue onwards. Here, a bridge leads to the lower levels, but you need to activate a switch first.

• Charnel Galleries

In the Charnel Galleries, take the upward path. Sawblades move along fixed paths here. Time your movement with them, then grapple your way up.

The path ahead loops back to the Catacomb Entrance. A spirit here is also worth talking to. After you speak with it, you start a quest to find the Death Marks scattered throughout the area.

Once you enter, you see a chest. Open it to get the Specter's Whisper relic, then break down the door to head back. If you return to the Quarry Elevator, you can find a hidden path by sliding to the right as you enter.

The next area requires you to use Holy Light to dodge the incoming sawblades.

Hit the switch while grappling to unlock the nearby door. Inside is a chest, which contains the Mourning Bead relic.

To continue the quest, head back to the Charnel Galleries and drop down to the next floor. Defeat the monsters in the area.

Break down the wall, then interact with the lever to lower the bridge. Head toward the new path.

• Chamber of Whispers

Use Holy Light to drop into the empty space below the sawblades, then grapple your way out.

At the end, you reach two paths. Heading up lets you hit a switch that opens the way back to the entrance. Continue left to proceed.

When you exit, grapple your way up. Interact with the lever again to change the course of the bridge. Then make your way down to the Gallery of Teeth.

• Gallery of Teeth

Inside, drop down to the floor that has the symbol etched on the wall.

Exit and interact with yet another lever to go lower.

Enter the Chamber of Teeth and keep dodging the sawblades. When you exit, a lever changes the bridge's path. Then grapple up. The way ahead leads to the De Rais Necropolis.

• De Rais Necropolis

Fight your way through, then drop down. Defeat more enemies in the next room to proceed, and you enter the Jaws of Limbo. Activate the lever above you, then drop down the gaping hole. An entrance on the left leads to the Necro Charm relic.

• Throat of Hell

Break the wall on the right and keep going until you reach the Condemned Mineshaft.

• Condemned Mineshaft

The Condemned Mineshaft has an elevator that takes you back to the Quarry Elevator, as mentioned earlier. Head further down, then go right to reach the Blood Pits.

• Blood Pits

Duck under the sawblades and take down the monsters to get the whip. Then drop down the bridge to reach the final area, the Stairway to Hell.

• Stairway to Hell

Fight your way through, then activate the lever that unlocks the door. It leads to the boss fight with Death. You can also take the elevator back to the Quarry Elevator.

Once inside, a cutscene triggers. Note that this is a forced-loss boss fight.

[2] Reach Dracula's Castle.

Another cutscene plays. Once it ends, climb, grapple, and wall jump your way out!

Head right until you see a glowing blue door. Inside, you meet the Ferryman.

Talk to the Ferryman to fast travel to areas you have discovered. Use him to teleport to the Streets of Paris.
