Things to Remember
Castlevania: Belmont's Curse is a game of fast-paced action, precision, and exploration. It requires some patience to learn but is also very fulfilling when conquered. The following tips should keep the journey fun and efficient:
Get comfortable with the movement
Platforming is a massive part of the game, and staying alive will eventually depend on how well you move around the screen. Familiarize yourself with the game's physics and try to maintain control no matter how chaotic the situation gets.
Become a master navigator
The game involves a lot of backtracking, especially after unlocking certain abilities. Knowing which paths need to be re-explored saves time and makes every run less risky.
Prioritize clean runs over fast runs
In tedious runbacks, take your time and prioritize taking no damage over speed. It keeps you sharp, and with enough practice, speed will naturally follow.
These runbacks are usually before boss fights, so aside from the free warmup, it's also better to face them with full health.
Learn various counters to different attacks
Learn which moves avoid damage from which attacks. Sometimes, there are multiple ways to deal with one move. This allows more for more creativity and aggression, so find those opportunities and seize them.
Check every corner for secrets
Watch out for breakable walls and interactable objects; there are plenty of hidden paths in the game.
Get the Hidden Weapon, Cestus
After defeating the first boss, The Fallen, you will obtain the Arcane Whip. This whip allows you to check the previous areas by grappling on anchors.
