How Many Endings Are There in Castlevania: Belmont's Curse
Castlevania: Belmont's Curse has three endings: the bad ending, the normal ending, and the true ending. They decide whether Rose defeats Dracula and whether she breaks his curse. Every ending sends you back to your save, so you can see all three without starting a second playthrough.
All Endings Summary
| Ending | Branch Point | Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Bad | Clock Tower Bridge | Reach the Clock Tower Bridge and ignore Leon's warning and keep going. |
| Normal | Clock Tower Bridge, then the Throne Room | Defeat Death, equip Soul Harvest, and disable the clock trap. Then, defeat Isaac and Dracula without Absolution equipped. |
| True | Throne Room | Ring the four Bells of Virtue, defeat The Self, and equip Absolution. After that, defeat Dracula. |
How to Get the Bad Ending
You get the bad ending the first time you approach the Clock Tower Bridge if you haven't gained The Shadow Arcana yet. Leon warns Rose that something is off and tells her to turn back. Ignore him and the others, and keep going.
Rose confronts Dracula, and a short sequence shows her killing him. It's a trap. Dracula returns at full power, and Rose succumbs to her curse.
Of course, this ending isn't canon. The series still has decades of games set after this one, so on to the other two endings.
The Bad Ending Unlocks the Cursed's Outfit
Rose gets a second chance and wakes up at the Mirror of Life in the Master's Quarters. Getting this ending also unlocks the Cursed's Outfit skin.
How to Get the Normal Ending
Be a good descendant and listen to Leon. First, defeat Death to earn The Shadow Arcana and its Tarot Card.
Then return to the Clock Tower Bridge and equip Soul Harvest, the spell from The Shadow. Face the clock, and an Arcanic Resonance triggers. Interact with it to remove the trap. You can turn the trap back on later if you want to see the bad ending.
From there, push onward, defeat Isaac, and then defeat Dracula without Absolution equipped to get the normal ending.
How to Get the True Ending
The true ending has the most steps. Here's all the steps you need to do:
- Ring the four Bells of Virtue in the Gallery of the Four Virtues in Notre-Dame. Equip the matching Arcana to open the path to each bell.
- Defeat The Self.
- Equip Absolution, the spell from The Self Arcana.
- Defeat Dracula.

In this ending, Rose finds a way to lift Dracula's curse, but it costs her the Tarot Cards her mother gave her. She makes the sacrifice and frees herself and the world from the curse.
At least until Simon is born...
