Strategy
Beating the Shagohod is pretty straightforward. Just use the RPG to destroy its drill treads and wear it down. When it stops with its core exposed, shoot that instead. Just repeat this process until it's defeated.
Keep using the RPG to neutralize the Shagohod while you look for opportunities to shoot Volgin with a sniper rifle.
All his attacks can be dodged by simply strafing, but be ready to shoot his missiles.
Quirky Strategy
Once Volgin is on top of the Shagohod, let the fight drag on until it starts to rain. If you have the right camouflage, he won't be able to see you at all.
Notes
After the fight with the Shagohod, hold R1 as EVA and Snake share a moment to witness a hidden scene.
