Sorcerer Overview
The Sorcerer is a Ranged Magical Damage Class that uses spells to attack enemies. It is equipped with one weapon, the Staff, and rather than stances, the class has two kinds of spell types: Elemental Magic and Stardust Magic. Sporting powerful Area-of-Effect spells, the Sorcerer has the best crowd control and even better damage potential. Its main drawback, however, is its low bulk.
The class also has utility spells to make traversing maps and escaping fights easier. While a strong class, it also requires good positioning to make the most of its damage, and spells also require time to cast. However, with a good build, the Sorcerer is easily the best class to pick in Mistfall Hunter.
- ✓Best Crowd Control and Damage out of all classes
- ✓Skills can combo with each other for more damage
- ✓
Spells offer True Damage: Flat Damage that is not calculated with the target's defensive stats
- ✓Spells can offer a lot of versatility from close combat to utility
- ✗Low HP Bulk
- ✗Requires good positioning to survive
- ✗Can only effectively use one type of magic plus Generalist
- ✗Difficult to master
Who should play Sorcerer?
While the class is powerful, it is not recommended for beginners due to its glass-cannon-like build. The class should be picked up when you have a better grasp of the game and more reliably know when to dodge. However, the class is fun to play, especially when you can set up enemies for combos from yourself or from teammates.

Sorcerer Skill List & Priority
Skill List
| Skill | Description |
|---|---|
| Elemental Affinity | When Elemental Magic hits an enemy, it adds 1 stack of Elemental Mark. When an enemy's Elemental Mark reaches 2 stacks, detonate all Elemental Marks on them, dealing Magic Damage. |
| Fire Bolt | Hold to chant, then launch a fire bolt toward the target direction. The fire bolt explodes upon contact with a target or the ground, dealing Magic Damage and short-term burn damage. If released before chanting completes, it recovers Energy and launches a weaker fire bolt toward the target direction, dealing reduced Magic Damage. Fire Bolt has a relatively short maximum range. |
| Flameblade | Form a Flameblade in hand to attack forward, dealing Magic Damage to enemies within range and inflicting short-term burn damage over time. |
| Deep Freeze | Unleash a wave of frost in a cone in front of you, dealing Magic Damage to enemies hit and reducing their Movement Speed for a period of time. |
| Crystal Icebolt | Summon 2 Crystal Icebolts to follow you for a period of time. While active, each time you are attacked by an enemy, one icebolt will automatically launch toward the assailant to deal Magic Damage. Once the follow duration ends, any remaining icebolts will automatically fire forward. |
| Thunderstrike | Hold to chant, then summon lightning at the target location, dealing Magic Damage. If released before chanting completes, it recovers Energy and summons lightning with a short delay at the target location, dealing reduced Magic Damage. |
| Thunderstorm Sigil | Hold to chant, then summon a Thunderstorm Sigil at the target location, triggering a thunderstorm after a short delay, dealing Magic Damage and stunning enemies. |
| Thunder Pierce | Hold to chant, then throw a thunder spear toward the target direction, dealing Magic Damage to enemies hit. Thunder Pierce has a very long maximum range. If it fails to hit any enemy, it creates an electric field at its destination, dealing continuous Magic Damage to all nearby enemies and reducing their Movement Speed for a period of time. This Slow effect can stack up to 5 times. |
Priority
The best skills to use as a Sorcerer depend on whether you plan to play solo or in a team. An Elemental Magic playstyle excels at raw damage, making it reliable for solo play or as a dedicated backline attacker.
Stardust Magic, on the other hand, is great for crowd control and is thus a perfect playstyle for trios. For either of those playstyles, their respective passive skills, Elemental Affinity and Stardust Energy, are crucial to your build, so either must be a top choice.
The skill priority below details the best skills to prioritize for any respective build for the Sorcerer. The builds below also assume you have already chosen Elemental Affinity and Stardust Energy.
| Build | Priority Skills |
|---|---|
| Elemental | Firebolt > Flameblade |
| Stardust | Gravitational Vortex > Meteor Charm |
How to Play Sorcerer
Chanting Spells
The Sorcerer attacks with its spells, which is their version of skills. However, a good handful of its Talents focuses on improving its chanting speed because the rate at they cast spells is a drawback to using them. Always keep in mind the chanting speed on using spells before you use them.
Far Ranged and Close Ranged
While the Sorcerer is called a ranged attacker, close combat is still an option for them. Ice spells can freeze and slow down enemies and the fire spells has low range but high damage over time. Still, their low bulk means they may not survive a tough enough opponent so keep your distance when you can.
Manage Your Resources
The Sorcerer uses energy to cast all their spells. Using all the skills in one go could make you lose all your energy and leave you vulnerable to enemies. Make sure to leave some to regenerate or to make a hasty escape.
Always Trip up Enemies
The Sorcerer's most useful spells are the ones that stun, slow, or knockback enemies. As much as possible, start with those spells and follow up with your damage-dealing spells.
Positioning is Key
An advice useful for all classes, but especially good for the Sorcerer. The spells are best utilized in the right environments and when the enemy does not see them coming. And with good positioning, the Sorcerer's crowd control is best seen when many enemies are caught up in one spell.
Invest in One Magic Tree
Both Magic Trees are at their best when they are invested in heavily. Do not waste resources investing in both. Choose one kind of magic to play with and stick with it.
Do not forget your General Spells
The Elemental and Stardust Spells are the main damage dealers, but the Generalist Spells are very useful. Arcane Armor and Cryptic Ward are essential defensive spells, while Phantom Step and Forbidden Gate are great for support and defense. Always consider adding them to your builds to be a more versatile Sorcerer.
